Absolutly a temp fix. You should've read more. The towel trick can do nothing but further damage your 360. Good luck with that. Be sure you fully research whatever method you are considering before you just jump in and do it.
You will need a reflow or a reball for a more permanent fix, I'm sending mine off to xbox360pros in the morning for a reflow. Similar to you, I have the 0102 error.
Now I feel bad. So you're saying that adding cold fans around my 360 won't help?
Can you link me towards xbox360pros offer to reflow the BGA? I live in Canada though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Any feedback? Any hint on what I can do? My 360 is tempered so I can't use my warranty.
I work in a PCB assembly company (Flextronics) so I'd guess someone at the job could help me reflow my BGA. Can you link a thread explaining the steps to reflow the BGA? Maybe I can do it in house ><

If you haven't ever opened it up the warranty covers that issue for 3 years now and M$ will repair/replace it.
It is opened unfortunatly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
