Title: Question About New Vs Old Hardrive
Post by: flexnix on November 02, 2007, 08:38:00 AM
Alright, here's the situation and maybe someone can shed some light on this. I'm going to get rid of my Xbox 360 Premium that I bought July 06 to a co-worker. I'm going to buy the premium but with the HDMI port (the new 20gb version). Should I just give him the new drive coming with the new 360 or do a data swap. And how do I transfer stuff over? Whats the better route, any differences in HD? One faster or quieter?

id take the newer drive. you can hook it up to your computer with an adapter or open the drive up and hook it up straight to sata. then use xplorer360 to backup a complete image, pop the new drive in and restore the image on the new drive and voila! then format the old drive with the 360.  this will only work with two 20gb hard drives. if you get a 120gb youll have to move every folder manually, or use the transfer cable that comes with it (i think).

Can an adapter be bought at the store? I noticed that Microsoft adds a sticker to one of the security screws on the harddrive. Is it just four screws?
