Title: X-box 360 Is Really Dead

Hi,
at first i have to say that i'm german so my english isn't the best, sry for that ;-)
em .. i got an xbox 360 for a long time and then the ring of death came. i was really angry. after that i noticed, that the xbox is really really dead. i cannot even open the dvd drive and the fans are not rotating. only the ring of death appears. so there must be something wrong in the check procedure so it won't start any functions. i tried to temporary fix it with the heat gun method but it didn't work. i have no ideas what i can do because the box is out of any function.
i have no ideas anymore, please help me. thanks a lot.

now i had an eye on the power supply, in standby its yellow, all good, but when i power on the 360 then its red for a half second and goes back to yellow again. power supply bricked?

ok the story continues ... i have tested my 360 with an other powersupply, but it didn't work, all is the same. someone any ideas?

check the error codes thread stickied in this forum, in there, learn how to check your secondary error and then tell us which one it is

error code is 0001 , power problem ..... but like i said, i have tested an another power supply and there was the same error.

Damn, your 360 really is dead. In my experience, error 0001 means one of the transistors that regulate the voltage has died (judging by how the fans dont spin and the DVD drive wont open, it was probly cause by the huge amounts heat it was exposed to). So, the heatgun or towel trick wont work in this case.

Its fairly safe to say that unless you are willing to replace the power transistors on the motherboard, your 360 is screwed.

If it has been opened, reopen it again and watch if the dvd power cable isnt cutted or broken. Mine was jammed and I had to change the cable to repair de 3rod (without fan).

hm one time i had to change something on the power cable of the dvd drive because hitachi hack in the beginning. maybe it's not tighten anymore, i will check. thanks

i checked the cable an one wasn't really in, i fixed it but it doesn't worked

hm ok, i try to explain. at first i got the ring of death 0020 error. then some weeks later i wanted to test is it works again. but then there was no more 0020. now the error was 0001. i changed nothing of the 360. the fans are not spinning and i can't open the dvd drive. then i changed the power supply but this didn't work. then i tried the heat gun method but this didn't work too. after i got the information i should check the power cable of the dvd drive i did it but it was ok. now i don't know what i can do to fix it. i hope this are enough information.
