Hi,


I have a Xbox 360 which doesnt display video at all, and no its not because of the switch its basically the GPU is dead, but i dont get any RROD.

So I was wondering if you guys could help me get the RROD as this console is still under warranty, but only under the 3 year warranty as i have had it since launch, anyways as you can tell i would not like to open this console at all,  just get the 3RROD so i can send it in for repairs?

I Have done the Towel Trick and got the video working again but after a while of gameplay it started doing the same thing just before it died hte previous time, it would have like this shiny grey colour on the whole screen, its kind of weird and different to the stories of other peoples consoles that have died

Honestly, just tell them it has the 3RLOD issue and send it on in. If you don't want to, you could just leave the thing on for a few days and see what happens but I'd try option 1  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Dont mess around with it. If you mess around with it microsoft will probably make some laim excuse not to repair your console for you.

I would just send it into M$, it doesn't have to have RROD for them to fix it does it? I sent my 1st 360 in no video, or audio. And, they sent me a replacement.. But, just call M$ and see about getting it fixed, what you got to lose? lol

PS: Dont try to overheat it on purpose.. If they notice that they may not fix it for you...

but its only covered under the 3 year warranty and they told that i had to pay $140 to fix it because its not the 3RROD issue

Tell them it's got the rod. I sent my tempramental machine in two weeks ago and got a brand new replacement. It only showed the rod 50% of the time. Think about it, are they really gonna sit there booting your console until it shows the fault they need?... I think not.

That's between you and M$, if it's broken and the thing has never been opened lean on them to do something about it. Giving the 3RL to your console on purpose, even if the things never been opened, is the same as warranty fraud, it's a technicality I know, but deal with it. How to 3RL your console on purpose will NOT be discussed on the forums and will be treated as warranty fraud discussion, and like piracy talk that comes with a BAN attached to it.

Now this thread has been brought to my attention. You need to pay heed to what RDC has stated here.
Those of you asking for help to pull one over on MS, Those of you suggesting to try it on as well can all expect to lose posting this time.
