All that is dong is changing the pressure on the board and causing it to flex, thus making/breaking one or more of the awful BGA joints that are the cause of the 3RLOD and most of the error codes, especially 0102 and 0020.
Nice video to show exactly how touchy it is, but it's just the BGA joints on the GPU and is already well known.

Oops, sorry about that. I´ve read that 0020 was "not yet known" (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=484726) and i though i was adding useful info (GPU solder points ?).
