Title: 0001 Error Strange

I just got done with an x-clamp replacement and my heat syncs don't move at all and it seemed like it would finally work.  I tried it without the case or anything on and got 3 flashing red lights, but I heard of people that put the case on and it magically worked. So I put the case on and fired it up...3 flashing red lights. I got the error code 0001.  Its very odd, the power supply stays orange the whole time and when I hit eject, it just turns on and flashes red, it doesn't eject.  When I hit power, it just flashes red and stays completely silent.  I searched google and these forums for help and didn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated, I was looking for my 360 to be operational by the halo 3 beta (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
EDIT - I also got the Nyko intercooler today and when I plug in the intercooler and then plug the power into the intercooler nothing happens at all...its like the 360 doesn't have any power.  Then if I try just the power cord I get the 0001 error.  Thanks for help in advance
EDIT 2 - I just noticed when I power it on, the power supply blinks red for maybe 1/2 second then goes back to orange

Good thing everyone helped me so I can play the halo 3 beta tomorrow.
Oh wait..no one even said anything never mind -_________-

0001 means power supply problem, you will need to check your 360 with another power supply.

failing that, you might of knocked off a small resistor on the motherboard without knowing, its easy done.  
or might of accidentally touched something  shorting a cap, and no fans spinning means theres a problem.  but change ur brick first and try that.

thanks for the help.  Would water getting inside the case while its powered on have anything to do with it? It wasn't me but someone accidentally dropped a wet cloth over the 360 when it was all opened (motherboard exposed) and powered on but nothing seemed to happen at the time

After this asinine statement I can't imagine why someone would want to. Just because ya posted is no reason it should be answered ASAP and to your liking. Taking apart your 360 right before something ya wanna play is going to be relased isn't too bright either, don't ya think?

This statement just backs up that ya probably have no business poking around in your 360 either.


Now that's over with, undo the X-clamp mod and go back to your clamps. mzone has already given ya the first steps to try, but try your PSU on another 360 on the off chance your 360 killed your PSU, ya don't wanna kill another one. Then undo whatever it is ya did to the 360, something may have become shorted in that process. Water getting on a circuit board doesn't cause damage right away, but after some time it can corrode traces and/or components and cause problems, just depends on how much of it ther was and where it got to on the board.

Sorry I was in a bad mood before I didn't mean to be so rude.  I opened it up because my 360 has been sitting broken with the 3RLOD for about a month, but now I have a reason to fix it (halo 3 beta). I tried the heat gun method and that worked for a day or so, so I tried the x-clamp replacement tut.
Maybe the other reason is because the local home depot didn't have nylon washers so I got metal ones and the metal touched the motherboard.  Thanks for your suggestion, I will try my PSU on my friends 360 today
