Title: Feezing
Post by: elixir4001 on May 14, 2007, 09:40:00 PM
arite let me give some back story. Xbox had 3rlod so i decided to try the x-clamp replacement. I couldnt find #5 screws so the guy at home depot told me this was the right thing, its the same size and width just a hex head (not an exact pic just for refrence)hex bolt pic  on the tut it doesnt give much explanation on what each part looks like so i figured it was prob it. it fit just fine but when i put the motherboard back in the case it would not sit all the way down b/c of the heads.  So without thinking of testing it out first i went ahead and flashed it (ms25) to 5.3a from 5.2a by dumping 5.2 then samhack 5.3 (like you would flashing the 1st time) with no errors. Now when i boot it may go for a min or two then freezes. No 3rlod, nothing.
so what i am wondering is if the x-clamp replacement is wrong (as in wrong bolts or something else) or if the firmware maybe is messed up?

I got the 3RLOD a few days ago after the spring update...did the towel trick and it worked, but same problem here the game freezes after a few minutes. So i upgraded from FW 3.3 to 5.3 using mtkflash and i clear the game cache form the HDD and so far so good!.......will keep testing though
