heres what happened
I have done a few firmware updates on a couple of 360's
came to do my brothers
firmware went on without a problem
tested before i put the case on worked fine
put the case back together now its just getting no power at all just not fireing up
tried a different power supply so it aint that
disconnected and reconnected everything
can anyone help I'm desperate
Thanks
-
i dont want to insult you but make sure everything is connected.
start basic and work up. check the connectors on the motherboard. make sure nothing got knocked loose. trace out where the power supply hooked into the main board and see if any connector got pushed out
-
I'm not insulted, glad of any advice
Already tried all that nothing much in the way of connectors to check, reconnected everything there anyway and still no luck
-
perhaps the front riser board is loose or the power button itself is not working, were you poking it with a screwdriver to turn it on when the case was off ?
-
ye i was useing the long screw out the xbox, something seems to be rattling under the motherboard, sound like a spring, busy takeing it to bits now
-
are you sure the rattling isn't the sensor that detects if the 360 is placed horizontal or vertical?
-
Dont know, wheres that, motherboards out sounds like the rattling is under the big silver heat sink, am i right in thinking i can plug the motherboard it while its bare to check it powers up ?
-
rattling under the heatsink ? you haven droped anything inside have you ? hmm weird
-
think poisonousjuice is right, my own 360 is doing the same think must be that sensor
really dont understand whats happened was fine till i put the case on now its dead as a door nail
-
time to get the voltmeter out me thinks
-
Try powering it up with the controller. Just hold the centre button down for a few seconds and it should turn on.
But make sure nothing is shorting out first.
