Title: Xbox Live Wireless
Post by: OhTenMinusOne on April 28, 2007, 05:11:00 PM
Here's my situation.  I have wireless internet, but I don't own the landline of the router.  My landlord owns the router and landline. (don't worry he knows about it and offered to let me mooch off his wireless)

I want to be able to use the wireless without having to buy the, somewhat expensive, wireless adapter that Microsoft offers.

Is there any way around this?  Is there a piece of hardware that works like the wireless router, only backwards.  Like going from wireless to wired instead of the usual wired to wireless?

Just Lan your computer with ur xbox? Sharing the connection? Or you cud just buy another router and use it as a gateway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Then wire the new router up to your xbox, but to be honest to save the hassle your best off just buying a wireless adaptor off ebay for 40quid.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Here's the Linksys wireless gaming adapter.  I've been using it since the original Xbox.  It works great, I can even stream video from my PC with it.  You can usually find one pretty cheap on Ebay.

Yeah, not doubt about finding it cheap on eBay.  But it seems that all the good ones have crappy shipping to Canada.  And the money I'd save goes towards the shipping.
