It's not the dashboard that is limiting it....it's the sectors on the first part of the hard drive that designate the size, so as soon as the HDHacker program is updated to read the new 120G HD (right now it doesn't work), it could be possible.
the hdd has a sector called SA sector "service area" sector , which includes many parameters about your hdd , like the manufacturer , serial number , model , password "if applied" and many other things , some of these parameters are important for your 360 to accept the hdd as a microsoft signed original hdd , so injecting those codes into any compatible hdd , might make it be able to get accepted successfully , so the size isnt really a matter , but the guy whose working on this tool need more info about the hdd models to be able to make it for that model , and since he's doing it from his own budget and free time (thanks to him) , then this is going slow , but one day we'll be able to attach a 400GB hdd soon
