Title: Samba Shares With Linux

i have a linux box running redhat9. i have samba up and running and have this shared directory

\\Emblym\server\www\html\downloads\Music

"Emblym" being the netbios name, and "/server" being the share. i cant get it to work at all in XBMC and i have tried MANY things. when i click on the share from a computer i have to enter a name and password (although it will still work withoutht the password). i have tried the following as well...

smb://ben:password@\\Emblym\server\www\html\downloads\Music
smb://ben@\\Emblym\server\www\html\downloads\Music\


any help would be appreciated

*UPDATE* i changed my shares to public so they no longer need user names and passwords. will this help my situation?

i just use "smb://" as my path and it allows me to browse all shares on the network.

ill try that out but i would like to be able to go to a certian directory.

are you on a network? with say a router?
