Title: Xbox 360 Dvd Drive Does Not Spin Down

Can somebody help me out with this. My xbox 360's dvd drive does not spin down discs as I hit the eject button. Anyone have a possible solution?

It's weird. Like, I'll boot to the dash and it will spin down a little. But if I hit eject, the console doesn't give it time to stop spinning before it kicks the disc out. It's not scratching my discs, I just don't like that it's doing it.

i think

sometimes the magnet in the center on the motor that spins the cd and magnetizes to the spindle comes unglued.. it will either be stuck on the spindle or magnetized to something else.. if that is the case glue it back in to the motor

hey let us know if you fix your 360!

hey walkman, im in a slightly different position as you, my 360 works, but the drive wont read my dvds, i put one in, and 1-2 seconds later itll spit it out.. uugh, gotta get a 3rd 360 now.. what a f'in pain...

Same thing is happening with mines. If I eject it AFTER going to the dash, the disc spins a little on the tray. Luckily the disc doesn't get scratched.

If I turn the 360 off then turn it back on, the drive makes this wierd whirring sound.

I really don't want to buy a 3rd 360 console.... hmmm   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Thanks guys, i'll try some suggestions. If worse comes to worse, i'll just take it back. Another thing...it will boot and play discs. When I boot it up, you know how the center light in the ring usually just stays on. Well, when i turn it on, it blinks a few times like it's going to eject, but boots up normal. I flashed the firmware...and prior to flashing the firmware, whenever I tapped the power button, it would eject...weird. But whatever, i'll give some of the suggestions a run. Thanks

i say i think !!

but you will see

you dont even have to open your 360

just whan try  opens than unplug your power

push the try 1/2 way and look and see !

yes look and see !! (in top disk loop)

i know 100% it is your magnet !!

for walkman4448 Paperstack.1 dc2000 all your 360 will be fix soon !!

P.s. most time it is hitch or LG driver
