Hey guys, i am having a little trouble with my 360, when the hdd is hooked up the 360 hangs at the logo for 5-10 minutes then boots up but the hdd does not appear. When the hdd is not connected it boots up fine. It is a premium console and the hdd is the one that came with it. Any clue as to what is going on here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

have you been inside your 360 ?
i forgot to connect the SATA cable back up and thats what mine did.
-
Yes i have, but i checked all of the connections, everything seems fine.
-
go back in and doubble check that when you were putting the cables back in the sata cables were pushed in firmly
-
the sata cable goes to the dvd drive and shouldnt have any effect on the hdd connection, but they are all connected as firmly as possible.

Does your HDD power up?
Not sure you can find out or anything, but listen to it, (mines had activity LED's etc).
I had a similar problem, turned out the power was whack.

yeah i can feel it spinning but the 360 isnt recognizing it, i am gonna hook it to my pc and rebuild it

i tried hooking my 360 hdd to my pc via a pci to sata card (the same one i used to flash my dvd drive)..the pc detects it fine but once i open xplorer360 and search for the drive my computer starts freezing for about 30 seconds, unfreezing for 2-3 seconds, then freezing again. I let it set for about an hour and it kept doing this, any idea on how to stop it from freezing like that?

Might be a defective hdd, certainly sounds shaky.
