ok, what is the heat gun fix for?
Tell me your kidding, have you not seen or heard of the heat gun fix to fix error 0102? Basically you cover some of the smaller components and plastics bits on the mobo then use the heatgun to heat up the solder on the mobo and it should reattach any of the loose solder joints.

no, i havent heard of it. that is the n00biest way to fix that problem, its not that hard to look over the board for dry or lose joint, then just give it a touch with the solderign iron. i fix tv's and vcr's and dvd's all the time with dry joints, and thats the best way to do it

Yeah cause its easy to resolder 100s of tiny points that are between the board and the chip that u cannot see. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) The error is caused by bad solder joints in the memory. They use bga solder balls and then put it in an oven to let the solder melt and connect. Problem is that bad joints are very commom in earlier consoles.
