Looks good. slight delay - but better than aiming with a joypad.
one questiont ho - they use the wired 360 controller to set it up.... will it work with a wireless controller + change & play wire/kit??
$80 is about £45 GBP - basicallythe cost of one game - i think its worth it.

Looks like a good quality product but I never understand why people want to use keyboard and mouse over a 360 controlller. Yes aiming is a bit more accurate but apart from that its just harder to control. Thats just my opinion though. Nice work.

Because the people who use a mouse and kayboard will argue its a heck of alot easier to control.
Personally, I can do a heck of a lot more at once, and aim many seconds faster and more precisely using a KB/mouse combo... although i do love the 360 controller. With my PC being kinda crap now, it would be nice to play 360 games witha kb/mouse every now and then

keyboard and mouse is better than a controller because u can turn 180 degrees in a milisecond and still be accurate when you shoot. reflex shots are also very easy with a keyboard and mouse because u can just flick the mouse and click really fast. in my 3-ish years of playing halo and halo 2 and counter-strike on the xbox, i probably only had a few flick shots with the controller. in counter-strike on the computer, i get flick shots all the time. there is a learning curve to both the controller and the mouse + keyboard, but for me the keyboard is a lot easier to get kills with. and no, i do not hate consoles like 80% of all pc gamers, and vice versa.

This is going to be cool and not cool at the same time. This will give people with this setup a unfair advantage if you ask me. But whatever i will still be slayin fools with my regular controller because I AM THAT GOOD HHHHOOOOYYYYAAAAAAA

Meh it looks like it's quite sluggish
I will probably buy it to use an arcade controller of the arcade games but not for the KB/M support

After reading all these other people's replies I was thinking nobody was seeing what I saw..
That thing is so slow guys. Watch it again, but this time, focus on the mouse, and just pay attention to when he moves the mouse and what happens on screen. It's taking like a half a second for anything to happen. That is unplayable. You wonder why he's not really doing anything on screen?
Also, you realize why the sensitivity is turned down all the way? It's to try and hide the slowdown effect. You bet your ass if you were to put the sensitivity up, then just set the mouse in one spot and give it a quick tap, it'd take a half second for your screen to move.

Ok, now that i've seen recorded from a TV, I'd rather see Picture-in-picture, one of the mouse in the corner, and the backround be though a capture card!

EdgeFX Lets Console Gamers Frag Away with a Mouse
SplitFish's new EdgeFX mouse was designed to make your PlayStation 2's Dual Shock controller obsolete. It has the controller's four face buttons etched onto it's side and also comes with a secondary controller that contains the Dual Shock's analog and directional pads. The $70 combo is out this week, but it only works with the PS2, though SplitFish promises PS3 and Xbox versions are in the works. We think it's a better alternative to XCM's offering. Louis Ramirez

you realize there are sensitivty settings for you in your xbox 360 profile screens.. most peoples are probably on medium as they dont even know they are there.
Those settings may be a factor as well.

i had Max Shooter for the original xbox to play halo 2 with. while it worked good, it was never perfect. no matter what config setting i changed or anything else. there were times i had an advantage with kb/mouse and there were times people with the control had the advantage. it won't be as one sided as you think, not everyone with a kb and mouse is going to slaughter people without. although, when halo 2 comes out for vista, if it utilizes live anywhere, that will be an interesting situation.

Pretty sure you can check any dictionary in the universe and you will never find one that ties the words "joystick controller" to the definition of the word "console." In fact, commonly, you will see the tie of "keyboard or keypad," albeit not the word "mouse," to the definition of the word "console." So all of you console fanboys...you are all TOWELS!
Get over it. Not all console games are made for the pc, and not all pc games are made for consoles. That is why most people have both. And since i was playing computer games far before consoles, i have adapted to a keyboard mouse setup. So if i own a console and want to use a keyboard and mouse, i will. I think the idea of it is great, and i can't wait to get a XFPS and see how well it really does work. I also think it takes an engineering standpoint, to fully enjoy something of this nature. You little kids don't appretiate anything these days. I think it is pretty awesome that someone was able to create the XFPS 360. Hopefully someone will continue to expand on this device and make one that works even better. How great would it be if microsoft came out with a device like the XFPS 360, with all their buget and engineering behind it, it would be great just to see you controller freaks sqirm.
BTW, i am not biased toward pc's or consoles, i enjoy both. I just really hate the people who are biased toward either.

even with those sensitivity settings tweaked.. you will NOT get the same gaming experience you have on a PC as you will with this device on a 360.
Just like the original xfps.. timing will be off. No competitive player will be able to continue to play with this device beyond a week or so. It'll collect dust.
No competitive player was able to keep using any of the original xfps devices for much of the same reasons. It's not up to par with what you need and expect.
It might make a good geek present for your friends.. but it's not the competitive or gmaing edge you'd expect and hope for.

Yeah it's much easier to use a keyboard and mouse but the 360 should be played with a joypad because it's a console. People who use one of these online are gonna have a big advantage over people who use joypads. Yeah I agree it's cool but cruel!
That is not true with a kb mouse convertor.
Although the game is easier to control, a convertor will not give u turning speeds like that.
On a pc yes! There the better hardware u got, the faster u can respond, but this thing emulates a joypad. Most games do have a maximum turning speed.
Using one on halo2 (smartjoyfrag) confirms it ... U can not make it turn any faster ...

i don't care if it doesn't turn faster. i'm not expecting the limitations of the game to change when i use this thing. moving as fast as a controller is all i expect(which is still damn fast, just not as fast as a pc). i used the SJF for a long time and i stayed very competitive. also, i could care less about what i got to do to make it work. as long as it works. as far as a headset, i don't see why you couldn't use a normal wired headset plugged into the wired controller going to the xfps. i'm just gonna use my wireless headset(mine actually works n/p).

why is this product more expensive in the UK??? US Price = $80 $80 = £40.8789 UK Price = £50 £50 = $97.85
so we are being ripped off by nearly another $20 ontop of the US price, this is bull
Does anyone know of an Australian Reseller? We get forgotten here in the land of Down Under...
As far as the price is concerned, for the cost of a game I will pay that price - NO WORRIES. I only play FPS's with a keyboard and mouse, so being a big fan of the Call of Duty series; I am very disappointed to hear that COD3 is only coming out for console. So I have to get myself a XFPS360.
I didn't play any FPS titles for the original XBOX, I tried to play them but it just wasn't the same. But once I got myself a SmartJoy Frag I played all the FPS titles that came out for the XBOX 1. Now I want the same for the 360. Once you get use to the keyboard and mouse, you will never look back. The accuracy and speed is unbeatable. Thank God for the XFPS360!!!

Really Dude, you're being a real ass regarding this product. I would even use the word ANAL to describe your statement so far. Especially since you haven't actually used it yet. Seems to me like you got no business reviewing something you already hate so much. Add that to the fact that you stated you don't like 1st person shooters and keyboard/mouse controls and it's pretty obvious someone else other than you should be reviewing this product on behalf of xbox-scene when the times comes. Correct if I am wrong about you representing xbox scene to some degree but that is how you have made it sound.
I am surely not defending the cost or some of the limitations with the product, but you are acting pretty jerky. I see a lot of cool things with this product. Surely not perfect but it's going to be just what some people have been waiting for. People that want to try mouse/keyboard controlling out on the 360.. and also people with existing ps2 wired arcade controllers that can now work on the 360. That includes X-ARCADES and Street Fighter Championship Joysticks which a ton of people have. I for one have an arcade cabinet using the SF2 sticks that I can't wait to get working with the 360. XBox Live Street Fighter here I come.
It's obvious you got some sort of major issue with the people makign this product.. or something is going on for you to be going to crazy over this.

Yeah guys, I can't wait to have a huge delay after each time i want to turn, with a max sensitivity of trash. Don't forget my whopping like 8 keys i am limited to on that keyboard. And then I can go buy me a wired controller every single time i want to boot my system. Finally, I get to pay 100$ before the controller cost is added in. YAY CAN'T WAIT!! HSDEMONZ is 100% correct. If you find fault with this statement, give me YOUR ANALYSIS of their manual. That is, if you can stop from laughing as you read through it!

alot of know-it-all know-nothing's around here. alot of ppl that will use this are well aware of how it will work.
i am willing to deal with the limitations(like i did with the SJF), cuz this is the only way i will play a fps. nobody here can tell me this is crap(especially those that never liked the SJF or those that haven't tried the xfps).
i did very well with the SJF, and i bet i will do well with the xfps, no matter how many ppl don't want me too. if the xfps turns out to be crap, i'll be the 1st one to admit it. but if it works like i hope it will, i'll be the 1st to say i was right, you were wrong, and you can go ************

you are welcome to your opinions.. and you are welcome to spend your money as you see fit.
The review will be forth coming.
I am however allowed to have my opinion.. and as time goes on.. my suspicions are all being proven one by one. I have alot of experience reviewing products.. and xtender Products for that matter. Even the earlier version of this product. I'm in a good position.. almost a unique one to give it a shake.
I leave little to the imagination when I get around to reviewing something.. and will try to cover all the bases.. and expose any and all flaws I can find in a product. Otherwise.. why review it?
In the end.. you make your purchase decision on your needs. if you still think it fits your needs.. the product reviewed is for you.
clearly.. everything I have said to date, is based ONLY on what THEY have presented to us.. the specs.. the videos.. and the manual and the pricing. It's all educated though.
It's pretty much up to the SHIPPING product now to change those views. My views are based solely on what they have showed us.. and the experiences and the quality of the original product.
After spending more time watching and reviewing this video..
I'm more concerned than before. Lag is evident. Worse.. we see no real twitch playing here. Playing with a PC and Mouse combo on a PC is half about Twitch playing. Being able to twitch slightly and make the movement you want. Again though.. that is tied to speed/acceleration adjustments.. and in some games.. that will be lacking totally.. or will not be enough to be fulfilling.
For those that commented that I shouldn't review something cause I don't like or dig a certain type of gaming.. that is preposterous. I play those type of games. I simply don't prefer them. there is a reason I help run this site. I dig console gaming.. nay.. prefer it. Period.
Always Will.
Won't apologize for that.

Nope. no issues. I however will.. and often do post in these forums my views on a product or team and defend everything I say with vigor, intensity, and if needed drama.
It's up to a manufacturer to convince me a product is good. I have no issue with Xtender.. and if anything.. I'm probably the single biggest reviewer of Xtender products in this scene, having given them exposure time and time again.
Fuck.. I eat sushi with one of their reps. Few are more Xtender friendly than me. However.. I have no issue separating that and giving as I always have.. honest and in depth reviews.
Don't like that? Leave. Honestly. I'm only concerned about the product being good.. and working as advertised. (and it being marketed honestly)
You don't have to appreciate what I say.. or what I do for the scene. I could care less what you think. Keep it civil though.. as a few went over board and now have had their posts removed or edited or accounts banned altother for forgetting this site has rules and they violated them in their heated responses.
4 accounts that were made for posting in this thread alone have been removed.. and it's funny how each one had the same IP.. said the same disparaging things about XS and it's views.. and yet pumped the shit out of this product without THEM having it in hand either.
Xtender Shills maybe? or just regular morons? Who cares.
least I based every ideas, comment, and feeling on eith experience with the Xtender products in the past, or faithfully reading their specs, docs, and watching the videos they are using to promote the product.
The 4 twits we just banned.. used nothing more than XFPS rules.. and that XS.. (me) don't have a clue about this product..
Staff will keep an eye on this thread. thanks to the head mod staff for dealing with Pro Xtender Shill accounts.

You'll get exactly that from me.. an honest review. (as always)
On the topic of honest reviews.. it will be as complete as I can possibly make it. and I don't/won't pull punches. Other sites.. especially those HOSTED by their SPONSORS do that.
hmm.. I think I didn't want to say this until a few weeks down the road when I had a proper writeup done and prepared to be posted.. but.. I think I can elaborate on some aspects of it now as a teaser..
Personally.. I think it's one thing for a site to have sponsors. I think it's entirely another matter when a site is HOSTED by it's sponsors.. and then the site does reviews for products that are pretty much only sold on it's HOST sales site. you'll notice that with XS.. Xs has sponsors. Lots of little ads all over the place. what you'll also notice is that our reviews.. won't be swayed to sell the product.
I've panned more than one product that was reviewed.. despite it being on our sponsors top listings.
Other sites like Max Console for example, will never entirely pan a product ( I do however enjoy some of their reviews.. ) and won't go that extra step to say something is a bad product. Why? I'd wager it's because their hosting, being a prime Sales site.. wouldn't want to see a bad review of a product. (thats my opinion.. nothing more.)
something else to consider when reading our honest reviews.. and then those by others is you have to consider the advertisers links. I can't/won't say more variety in sponsors means a more honest review. However, a lack of variety.. especially when only ONE is usually noted.. and in what appears to always be favorable product reviews is highly suspect.
they aren't the only "review" sites out there only shilling reviews for stuff their HOST sells.. nor are they the only ones that will write a review.. list pros and cons.. and despite the cons.. still say the product is good. No matter how glaring the cons are.
maybe CONS is the appropriate word.
XS is a site, that sells nothing. Revenue is from the various forms of advertising.. all of which we consider valued sponsors of XS. However, NO sponsor, hosts us, nor do they have any control over our news, review, or views in the scene. We will on occassion write a review that will piss off a sponsor or a developer. It happens. We find in the end most developers/manufacturers of a product praise us for our honestly, even ifi it isn't always flattering to their product, or their bottom line.
TeamXtender.. has time and again be very honest with their responses to reviews.. and for that we appreciate them.. and I know they do us.
That can't be said for other scene sites..
Oh well... that's a topic for another thread.. Review site honesty. Site with Sponsors that don't answer to the sponsors.. and sites that are hosted entirely by their sponsors.. that do answer to their sponsors.
Definitely a topic worthy of a new post on hsdemonz.com some day.
EDIT: This post was never meant to point fingers at the small review sites out there that struggle for members.. but I doubt people will see it as anything but the Blue guy banging his drum and starting trouble.
Being the Blue Midget Bastard isn't as easy as it looks..
It takes hard work to use honesty, bravado, and the written word to piss off so many.. while educating the masses.

I pre-ordered the smartjoyfrag as soon as I saw it. Was able to get it week after it was finally released. I originally had some issues with it, but after I paired it with a MX510 and had everything tweaked I was able to kill all the time
180 turns were extremely easy, not to mention being completely precise at sensitivity 10. Allowed me to turn faster than any other player. I could headshot 99% of the time with anything in most circumstances. I never missed a headshot with the sniper rifle at range. I was able to snipe people out of warthogs going at full speed fairly close to me going from right to left, when they are flying at full speed and you need atleast 8 sensitivity at max turn just to even keep up, I could still snipe them easily.
I've been a long time multiplayer FPS player on the computer, starting with 8 player DM Doom via DWANGO. The mouse and keyboard is my home. If this really works then hopefully they make halo 3 MC move faster so I have an even greater advantage over controller users. That was one thing that always pissed me off about Halo MP, MC moves extremely slow compared to most other FPS games.

A quick review from someone who actually owns one!!!!!!!
well i got my FPS friday from xtreme mods and i must say its perfect! much better than the xbox1 FragJoy product.
easy, easy, easy to set up and the mouse responsiveness is excellent. Its not slow, its perfect, smooth and accurate!
really, i cant say enough good things about it. gears of war and COD3 are actually much more satisfying with the FPS.
i have been playing PC FPS before the xbox1 was intevented and have NEVER been able to really enjoy their FPS releases because I just cannot get used to the joystick approach. - the keyboard is a natural. Many props to those of you who kick ass with the joysticks - I cant hit a stationary elephant. I will give you that its unfair online when I use the FPS - too many years of experience with the keyboard and mouse and precision shots are natural.
Yes its unfair, but anyone can buy one, I will try to resist my urge to own the joystick users online.
Now for the moderator to kill my post. Its a great product, a good price IMHO and a priceless tool for FPS'. If 90$ is gonna break you, get a better job.
for those who feel the need to trash it. F&*&ing buy it first, use it at least once (you F'in nut-tard) and then make an educated statement. Otherwise you look like a little bitch who simply hates the thought of the product. Its just sad. Hate the idea if you like, but dont be a dumb ass and assume that a shitty video clip of the product is a true representation of its functionality. Try to be a little less bias - it comes off as incredibly ignorant. Its people like you who will make it fun to own your ass online. boo hoo its not fair. boo hoo life aint fair - get used to it.
