Title: Hd Dvd Player Stop Working After A Day Use.
Post by: Great2bfree on December 18, 2006, 09:36:00 PM
I just bought the HD DVD player yesterday and it appeared that today it ceased to operate. I installed the disc that it originaly came in, and everything was installed. Today, I go ahead and plug everything again, but the double disc icon for the HD-DVD player doesn't come up.

So far, I've tried to reinstalled it with the disc but it doesn't go any further the were you get prompted to plug the HD-DVD. I've tried different plugs btw. The drive is on, since I can open the tray, so its definatly on.

Has anything experience this? BTW isn't there suppose to be a light on the HD DVD player?

Don't you have to download the latest live update for the dash to enable the hd drive, I think I saw that somewhere.

It was the drive. it rot from a day use...  I tried the replacement today and it worked with no problem. This is the first time I bought soemthing and broke down after a day of use.

This HD-drive lights up btw, I knew it had lights. The old one didn't, which I found strange.

So far, I've tried Serenity and King Kong and they look great.

thats good.. the reason we said to update dash was that you never once stated that the first one ever worked or not and it is obviously a dashboard update to show the double eject.. i have the hd dvd but i am always online so i dont know if it required anything from the internet or if all of it was from the disc..either way it was a dash update
