they have fans?
(lmao, had too)

costs too much.

Now.. how about releasing the information about how you got these to work with the Xbox 360 at all? In other words, how did you bypass the security that makes only licensed Xbox 360 controllers work with the system? Would be a great help to the community, maybe we could somehow get Xbox 1 controllers working on 360 or something of that nature.

they might come with that info after it's released ...
-
does anyone know if a ps2 force feedback steering wheel will work ok with this
-
i had a converter for xbox1 and it was terribad. ill wait for some reviews to see if this is any good.
-
80 is way too much, i am curious though, does it support wireless mouse and keyboard? After all some wireless combos conect via a usb anyhow.

And that is my biggest question: why the ps2 controller and not original xbox controller?
I'd actually consider at that price if i could use my xbox duke controller on it.

i don't like the S-type 360 controllers at all... wish i could use an adapter for the big bulky xbox controllers... in fact, i'm not buying a 360 until i can use an xbox 1 controller (the first, or similar) and a price drop occurs...
-
This is way too expensive for just an adaptor. And for using an Xbox1 contoroller I think you could buy a Xbox1 to USB controller and use it on the USB port.
If it was 40-50$ I might consider buying it, but at 80$US plus shipping, hell no.
-
Well, you will be a few buttons short so some games would be impossible to play anyway...
80bucks? so with postage you are looking at nearer to 90, that is gonna make it at least $120 is Australia...ouch.
I think they won't get any takers unless a lot of *great* reviews come in.
I was expecting $50 and even then that was my outside limit to buy.

AHHAHAHAH yea thats good thing we have this, because that VERY EXPENSIVE wheel can now be avoided and we can have a VERY VERY expensive hookup for a regular priced wheel!
I was going to buy this, I was also VERY excited about it, but 80$? yer kidding me, id rather have a broken wireless headset!
-
i wouldn't pay $40 for this crap

Nope, for the Xbox 360, all accessories have to be licensed by Microsoft. Generic no-name cheap knockoff controllers ... nope. Madcatz , Nyko, Pelican, - and all other third party controller manufacturers have to get their products licensed by Microsoft. In fact, I think there is actually some kind of chip inside the controller that "talks" to the system to tell it is licensed.
The Xbox > USB > 360's USB has been tried before, even by myself. And the opposite, a 360 controller on an Xbox doesn't work either.
Now, Xtender somehow managed to get their XFPS to talk to the Xbox 360, didn't they? So, they somehow were able to "license" their own product. I doubt they got this licensed through Microsoft. Xtender knows something that we don't ... how to get a controller licensed to work with the 360. I hope they release this information, which is why I mentioned this in my first post.

YOU WILL NOT BE ON LIVE AND TALKING TO YOUR TEAM MATES WITH THIS DEVICE PEOPLE!!!!
Unless..
Of course.. you use the clearly buggy and bad Official 360 Wireless Headset.
This is what we officially call a LOSE-LOSE-LOSE situation.
We don't get access to original XBOX controllers and devices.. yet we do PS2 devices? WTf?
Is there truly that huge a demand for the PS2 controller.. on an XBOX? Yet seemingly no support for the plethora of Xbox 1 devices? WTF?
We don't get access to a Headset option. WTF?
We don't get any explanations about the security bypass? WTF?
Clearly.. this device was not tested by people that actually play games.. and actually play them on a 360.. and moreso.. on 360 LIVE.
This is like a PS2 or PSone fanboy's wet dream come true. This device isn't for an XBOX user. Period.
I can't wait to get my hands on this thing and review it proper. Sight unseen though.. this isn't a good deal.. and it isn't a good value.
the only niche this device fills.. is to make playing a 360 more PS2 like. If we really wanted that.. we'd line up for a ps3 at 5am.
Save your money folks. Or.. at least wait for my review.. or one from another GAMER.. especially someone that has reviewed the previous devices in this product line.

If i were very very rich, i'd pay those idiots to stop making such a lame product. Or just buy every single XFPS out there and drown em in ass-juice.
This is gonna ruin the xbox360 forever, period. I HATE those idiots that ruins the xbox360, just to get money for themselves. Retards. If too many people start using this, i'm selling my 360, and never getting a console again.
Or maybe a Wii, that way i could get back to equality.

It's probably only compatible with the cheap PS2 port racing wheels and not the USB logitech ones.
So no FF

The Keyboard/Mouse converter for the Xbox worked like crap so this one probably will be the same (the mouse response was very sluggish)

I hope your right so that all the idiots who waste their money on ruining the Xbox360 will just get a kick in their nuts.

Mouse/Keyboard for FPS is a cool idea when you think about it for less than 5 seconds. First off, it probably will be sluggish like the one for the XBOX1. Second, who actually plays their 360 from a computer desk? I'd rather lay on the couch and use my 60" HDTV than a 19" setting on a desk.

I play at my computer desk

Same here, on my 37" TV/Monitor, but I will always prefer the xbox360/xbox gamepad to the mouse and keyboard.
-
very pricey - seriously 80 bucks !?
I have only used a keyboard/mouse combo for the command and conquer series pc games...never even really played a FPS until Halo on the original xbox.
think I will stick with the 360 controllers.
would be nice to know the technology behind their device like Textbook said - could help other development
-
80 Bucks, thats a lot.
I guess they buy original controllers, disassemble them and use a controller chip to "push" the buttons as a reaction to the keyboard/moue. That would explain the price and how they worked around the authentification.

Well not everyone has a 60' HDTV.
I often play at my desk and it looks damn good on my 19' widescreen =/
-
First let me say I'm not trying to start a flame war, or personally attack anyone. I play at my computer desk, because I use my Lcd monitor on my pc as well as my 360. Second, why do people automatically cry foul when a mention of K/M for consoles come up. Its not like the K/M setup is anything like it is on a PC. They are never as percise. Another thing, why is it that controller users complain about the 'level playing field' of controller use? I've had consoles forever, the 360, xbox and others, unfortunately I'm mediocre at best with a controller. This does not put me on a level playing field with good controller users. There were K/M controllers for the xbox, and they did not "ruin the xbox." The K/M controllers are laggy as far as respone and aren't pinpoint. It just gives people who arent proficient with a controller, a chance to compete. Its expensive no doubt.
-
80 bucks...ugh. I think I'll wait to see if the rumored high precision controller comes to fruition. If they would create a controller w/ a trackball instead of the right thumbstick, I would not even have a need for this device.
-
yer iv heard there making one with a tracker ball is this true?? thats going to be like..... £60 over in the uk but £20 tax and postage on top anyways. I really dont understand why they didnt use orig xbox controllers.. Unless its because they dont have enough buttons and ps2 does?? Isnt the whole point of the 360 it being wireless? Who whats that coming out of it.. looks crap! Even worse with a shitty ps controller at the end aswell! I hate them there too skinny, shrimpy and plasticy, feel crap to hold after your used to a proper controller like xbox or 360. The only thing that will make this pay off is if they add a headset port, get rid of the ps2 adapter and make sure the k/m works perfect! Oh and then drop the price to about £30.
-
Let me be the first to say......
What good is the ps2 guitar to use on a 360? YOU CANT PLAY DAMN GAME......
-
As far as I know, with the exception of the Xbox button on the 360 controller, the PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360 controllers all have the same number of buttons.
They all have
4 main buttons (ABXY, Square, Circle, Triangle, X button)
Two triggers (R1 L1, RT LT)
two other buttons (L2 R2, white button black button, LB RB)
Start and Select
Two analog sticks
One D-pad
I don't see why there'd be a reason to be able to use PS2 controllers as opposed to regular Xbox controllers, unless it's some deep, technical incompatability that we wouldn't know unless we were developing the thing ourselves.

$80 bucks...and not even a port for an Xbox Controller!

My feelings exactly. No XBox controller support + $80 = too expensive for me.
-
It was my understanding that wired controllers dont need that special chip? Even so if they do chips can mostly be copied right? 2ndly if they cant in this option, then they could by bulk cheap wired controllers which I can find at a local store for 20$. This makes the research & development, and supplies at making nothing to 60$? Id like to see a run down on this, but in all honestly I cant see this but a huge price maker for xtender... which for me is too expensive anyways.
-
Yes, I do agree that the price of the XFPS IS pretty expensive. But I believe that many are missing the main point of the product, and underestimating its target audience. Please bear with me while I explain.
I remember playing Goldeneye 007, and Perfect Dark on the N64 and becoming fairly good at it. Shortly after obtaining my first PC, and with the persuasion of some of my PC savvy friends, I quickly became an avid PC FPS player; playing games such as Counterstrike, Desert Combat, and Battlefield 2. When I first started playing, I said to myself: "I must have an analog gamepad to play this". So in the short while it took me to obtain a quality gamepad for the pc, I played using the oh so awkward mouse and keyboard. The gamepad finally arrived, and I configured it to play very similarly to how it did in Perfect Dark. Even though I was still getting my a$$ handed to me as a noob with mouse and keyboard, I'll be damned if I didn't realize right away that the gamepad didn't feel as natural as the M&K with only a few weeks of playtime. The M&K just gave me more of a "I'm really holding this gun" type of feeling. After a while of playing PC FPS games the mouse literally became as an extension of my virtual arms which were wielding the guns. The day that I learned that the smartjoy frag was on the market for the same Xbox console which I occasionally played Halo on when someone would bring it into the fire station, was the exact same day I went out and bought a used Xbox of my own, and ordered the SJF. I didn't even think about any of the possible issues that the SJF may have had. All I knew is that having anything like a M&K would be much better for me than the gamepad for any FPS'. The guys at the fire dept. constantly heard "If I only had a M&K". Well, the SJF arrived, and it was exactly like I described: "LIKE a mouse and keyboard" it definitely didn't have the precision of a native PC mouse, because you could easily feel that the sjf would only allow the mouse to emulate the analog control of the left aiming stick. I'm not going to go into detail about how this isn't the same as aiming on a PC because this post is already long enough, but trust me, it isn't the same. But after much tweaking, I made it feel as closely the the PC as I believed that I could, and after just the first night of adjusting I went back to the station with my new controller setup, and have not been dethroned in Halo 2 by a fireman from any shift yet. And now, if I'm not playing Halo 2 with the SJF, I'm not playing it much at all.
Most people who are used to playing FPS' on PC feel the same as I do(trust me there are more of us that you think.) And although the XFPS may be costly, may not have good or any headset compatibility, and may possibly have other problems as well, people like me will not give one iota of care if it is combatible with Xbox 1, PS2, racing wheel, or WHATEVER. We can connect our freakin' mouse and keyboard man!!!!! And most of us will at least consider giving a portion our left nut for it. You want proof? Well consider this: There are two XFPS being sold on ebay with a "buy it now" price of $199. Watch as someone gladly pays for it to either give or recieve it before Christmas.
I know your eyes are probably bleeding by now, but I wanted to just say this: I've played with people on and offline that were as good, and better than I while they were playing with the controller.(Practice playing Halo 2 for awhile on sensitivities of 8 and 9, and also practice jumping and shooting accurately.) So don't feel inferior to someone simply because they're using a mouse and keyboard which is merely emulating the gamepad. That type of setup is just more familiar to us PC FPS freaks.

Is this thing going to come out in the stores like walmart and best buy
