Title: Just A Heads Up: Section 1 + 3 Flashing Red
Post by: TGD on December 02, 2006, 10:45:00 AM
If any of you guys get a flashing red left botton and left top red flashing error on your 360. BE SURE to check the bottom of your 360, in the center on the bottom metal casing there are some black screws in the center.. around the two metal X imprints on the bottom metal casing. if any of these black screws are missing or loose... your 360 will frag with the bottom and top left lights (sections 1 + 3) flashing.

These need to be all screwed down tightly or the 360 will not boot at all. I ran into this issue when i went to fix my Open Tray error with the rubber band trick... i just about got sick after a few hours trying to figure out why my 360 would no longer boot up after i put my 360 back together... luckily i noticed i had a few missing black screws..i replaced them and now it boots up fine.

Just a heads up

Not always the case, but sometimes if you don't have the heatsinks bolted down they will lift off the CPU and/or GPU and cause an overheating error.

I have run a 360 motherboard completely bare (out of the metal chassis, sitting on a cardboard box) and it runs fine, the issue is not the screws themselves but the heatsinks making contact with the chips.
