I heard that buying a non M S 360 controller will screw up your console. Is this true? If this isn't true and is totally safe to use a non default controller.... what is a good one to buy?

About a week after I bought my Xbox 360 I went out and bought a wired controller for it, did not know it was an off brand. I used this controller for almost a year until my 3 lights of death, and it never damaged my box. Although! The controller has delay problems which make it very difficult to play FPS but just fine for any other game style. All in All I do not recomend off brands not because they damage your box but because they are off brands and not built as well/the same as MS controllers, even though MS seems to be putting out faulty electronics these days. **COUGH**COUGH**XBOX360**

for the most part, i dont think 3rd party brands damage your console. some however do tend 2 be cheap or break easily, that was one of the reasons i stayed with the MS brand with my regular xbox. But i doubt they break ur console. Id stick with MS controllers anyway, they sure can take a beating. ive dropped my wireless controller over 50 times due to the wired headset but my gamestop controller took one fall and now the LB doesnt work. I just hate the D-Pad on the MS controller soooooo bad. I'd like to have fun playing UMK and Street Fighter.. ya know. Any sugesstions? Like what about the doa stick? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)
BTW I played the BK game sneak king last night for the first time, and it rocks, i just hate they don't give you a choice to change the views! It's not inverted for the up down, and the left right is bass ackwards. grrrrr!
But ... other than that, good game with fun graphics!
