Title: Testing If Drive Is Bricked. Will It Work?

I want to to test if my drive is bricked or if is the motherboard that isn't powering it. My question is if I connected a perfectly working drive to a different xbox 360, would the drive open and close even with different identification codes? My drive is dead now and as I connected the wrong pins, I want to be sure which parts are broken.
