Title: The White Shell Kills My 360

i took it apart to fix it and i found that its the outer shell that is killing it i was wondering what could have caused this and any possible fixes

if it's overheating, make sure the 8 black x-clamp screws are TIGHT.

but DO NOT, over tighten them.

Explain the problem in detail. Also, what did you "fix" to have to open your Xbox 360 up?

Right off the bat, when I think case problems (which I assume is what you're talking about) I think something's shorting out.

well first it was an overheating problem but i solved that, the fans had come undone then it was the 3 red lights did the heat gun now everything works perfect until i put it back together then i get the3 red lights again i open it back up and it works again so i was thinking it was a short but i dont know where it could be shorting

btw i bought this box broken

i had the same prob i used a hot air gun to reflow the sodder and everytime i put the case back togeather i got the same prob  so i just left the top part of the case off and it worked fine for about a week or so then i had to do it all over agin
