Title: Can I Get A New Dvd Drive For Random Mobo

This question maybe a little noob but bear with me.  To my knowledge u need the key from a dvd drive to replace it with a new one, but i was wondering if it is possible to do this from just a mobo, or is there anyway i get a dvd drive for a bare motherboard?  Thanks a lot for any responses.

youd have to have that motherboards key, and flash that key to the dvd drives firmware.

You'd need the DVD drive that went with the new mobo, or the keyfile from it to flash the firmware on the new drive.  Basically, no; not in the sense you're talking about.
