Well, the other day i opened my X360 up because it was having issues reading the discs (as in it wouldnt read originals, backups or even DVD movies) and thought i needed to open up the X360 and reflash my drive, but after opening up the console and inserting a game disc, it all worked fine again. A cooling issue that effects how the X360 reads discs? Maybe, but i had recently bought a Nyko Intercooler so i thought it may have caused the issue.
Anyway, while the X360 was in pieces, i took a look at how the cooling works and thought that if you removed the grey plastic grill on the bottom side of the X360 and added two medium speed fans, this would act as an "Intake" cooler, which would blow cold air onto the XCPU, and then the hot air would vent using the X360's own exhaust fans. Even better is if you could make a mold that clipped into the same places the grey plastic grill used, and it would also not void your warranty. The reason i think this would be better than the Nyko Intercooler is because this way you are constantly circulating air around the XCPU and 360 which would cool the cpu and then vent the hot air using the Xbox 360's own exhaust fans.
However, this is just basic PC cooling and i have no idea how you would power these fans apart from maybe using one of the front USB ports. Im no expert at this but just thought it might be a good idea and wanted to see what the experts thought, so please keep this in mind if your going to flame me, lol. A down side to this mod is that it would be a Horizontal only mod.
So thats it, just thought id share an idea.

If I understand you correctly (probably not), youre saying that you would want 2 fans placed on the right side grill (bottom grill if youre standing it up vertically)...
Well, dont they already have products that already do that? You place your 360 in them, and they blow air up into the 360? Perhaps they just draw air out.
I have seen people put small 50mm fans in between the metal casing and the right side grill.. which would look stock, but at the same time, increase air flow.
What some people like to do is place a 50mm fan or a modified 60mm fan in front of the cpu heatsink.. This is an excellent way to cool your 360. It just moves heat right off the heatsink to the back fans... opose to the back fans just trying to draw heat... its being pushed. Hopefully you understand.
