Great news for the people (like me) who have applemacs with PPC processors.  We could hopefully use this through Virtual PC.

Just need the ability to burn custom layerbreak dvds sad.gif

Excellent work TeamXecuter!  I can't wait to get my hands on one of these!  If all that is claimed is true, this is truly an awesome tool!  I just gave up on a compatible PCI SATA solutions for my Hitachi.  This gives me a lot of hope!

I'd be careful, I didn't think Virtual PC worked with a USB device if Mac OS X didn't recognize it first.

There isn't any OS X burning software that does custom layer breaks?  Which PC programs do this, Nero?

The reason I couldnt do it in macos already is cos you had to use a sata connection and do it in msdos or windows, virtualpc only emulates a cd drive but usb devices work as normal.

PC program that does the custom layerbreak is clonecd (so ive heard).

Gff

This looks like a gr8 piece of kit.

Would that mean you would wont have to put it in mode-b mode.

Also where can you buy that item from when it becomes on sale?

Thanks

do you have to use the connectivity kit to power the dvd drive or can you just keep the power plugged into the 360 and have the sata to usb connected to your computer and dvd drive?

Will the drive need to be on Mode B to get recognized by windows?

Also, one more question that is not related to this release, would MS able to detect or care if I got on live with out plugging my dvd drive in and keeping the sata unplugged so I could shop around on Xbox Live Market place?

Awsome RELEASE

Looks like a nice product but i'd rather spend the same amount, if not less, on a known, working sata pci.

My two cents.

Caster.

With this what would be required to flash the dvd drive? Would I be able to just plug it in using this and flash it or do you have to solder or alter the drive in some way to flash it?

That is the IMPORTANT bit. Currently!! The device they were planning on using is so unbelievably flexible they can do ANYTHING they want with just a change of software/firmware.

Expect software updates shortly afterwards to support other makes of ODD.

What does it mean when they say DVD powered by Xecuter360 CK, does it mean we need to buy both the products to be able to successfully flash the Drive?
Thanks for any replies regarding this,
kashman.

The USB interface is just a data interface and does not provide power.

You can power the drive using the XBOX360. You then just have to have it near your computer while you perform the flashing.

I personally would have liked to see them combine the Xecuter360 CK AND this product into one single product.

I understand why TX have chosen not to. It did not make commercial sense nor add any functionality but it would have made for an more aesthetically pleasing product smile.gif

Hello, I have searched around and still haven't found a clear answer. Can I just detach my Xbox 360 HDD and attach it to the X360 USB (and then to the PC)?

Or will I need to open the 360 HDD case and get direct access to the 360 HDD?

Thanks for any information.

Tethra

unless they provide an adapter for the 360 hdd connector, then yes you'll need to open the hdd up to get direct access to the sata connector.

Thanks for the reply.

So it sounds like if I don't want to crack open the XBOX 360 HDD case, I should get Xecuter's earlier connector, the HDD to SATA connector?

Thanks,

Tethra
