Well, my friend got a core 360 he bought from bestbuy, and when he plugged everything in(yes we check all the connections) it just wouldnt turn on. So he called M$ and they said they would send him a new one, so they sent him a new one (he got a premium one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) Now heres the funny part, they didnt even ask for the core one back. So, we have sitting there a working premium, and the broken Core. So I was wondering, how would I go about fixing the problem in the core(it would not turn on).
Thanks.

Is the PSU active? As in, check it with a multimeter. I don't know if it has a standby mode or anything like that, mind you, so you may have to do some reverse engineering.

We plan on opening it up anyway, so I will inspect all the connections and such. Hopefully its just a wire that I can just solder back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

ok for one, i dont belive this at all. MS isnt that stupid, they would wanna inspect the console for damage before they had out a free one. (give me some proof or els im calling you a liar.)
second of all the only loose wires would be on the fans power or ground, the dvd drive power and controll wires or the sata connecting the drive, if any of these were disconnected you would get the 3 red lights error. so good luck fixing it if this really happend.

After he brings the consol back from his house (our next break) and I'll do what ever u want me to do to prove it to you. Also, yes M$ are that stupid, I mean 1 out of 10000000000 times you call 1-800-4MY-XBOX you actually talk to a person in America, or even a American; the other people can't even speak in complete sentences. Also, he waited and M$ didn't even call him to ask him to send it back. They sent him the premium system in the first box they sent, and the box wasn't even prepaid for him to even send it back. So believe what you want, but I would like to add, I have a Unicorn. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

not too bash you too, but if your friend just bought it, why wouldn't you go back to the store and see what they said? Maybe they had another one, (haha lol)

Why not just return the system, get the money back or exchange it ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Sell it on ebay as broken...

Jeez, provide proof or this thread is done.. I'm tired of having to sort through CRAP when I read these forums nowadays. It has really piled up since my first reading in 2003.
Is there an option to simply remove post we never want to see again (other than RIP for firefox)?
