Title: Dvd Drive Questions

When I first turned on my Xbox360, I got the "hardware failure" signal on the ring of light. However, since then it has been working, although sometimes I have to press the power button a couple of times for it to turn on.

My problem is not with the Xbox not working, but with the noise. The Xbox 360 DVD Drive is LOUD, one of the loudest disk drives I have ever heard. My friend also has an Xbox 360, and his drive is not nearly as loud. Is my drive defective, or do we have different drives? I guess it could be related to the defects I have been experiencing. Can I send the Xbox to MS and have them replace the drive?
