I am waiting for my shipping box to arrive, and I was just wondering if anyone has received their fixed 360 back from the Repair Center in Texas. What was you turnaround time? Did you get your same Xbox back? Any ideas what they did to fix it? Any issues running games/DVDs/etc.? Let me know how it went. Thanks.

You misheard.
There's no way they can do that.
You send it to them. They get it next day. They start working on it that day or the next (depending on when DHL decides to deliver it). 3 days pass. They send you a new one overnite. Automatically there are 5-7 business days involved. DHL doesnt work Saturdays, I dont think.

I would like to know what the actual difference between the "repaired/new" console and the one im about to ship out. I have read in another topic that some power supplies are different. Im sending the console, hd, the power brick and cords. My 360 has only locked up 2 times but im not playing as much as I thought, exams soon, so id rather be safe than sorry for holiday break. btw - a couple of my friends have a premium also and are on the american levels of the cod2 game and it freezes on load every time. anyone else heard of this? Hope everyone gets a WORKING 360 for christmas!

my original xbox broke in jan 2002, while it was still in high demand. I got the box the day after I called them, sent it out the same day, and got it back 2 days later. They work very fast.

Seems like they're doing it differently nowadays.

i talked to a manager at the repair facility in canada yesterday and they said they had just finished processing it and i will have it friday. as of friday it will be 7 businessdays so still under what they said as a maximum.
-
I thought it would take a longer time but I guess M$ wants to take care of the faulty systems now.
-
My friend's box went down last night. He called and tech support told him 8 business days.

I called MS this Morning, They said my Console was Repaired Yesterday. They Recieved it Tuesday... I should have it tomorrow.

I've also heard 3 business days, which would make it be THIS coming monday, the 4th.
Aye carumba....

Or as soon as MS recives your 360, they send you a new one out immediately.

QUOTE(chubs kj @ Dec 2 2005, 07:35 PM)

Yep same thing here. I was having the 3 red light problem, indicating a hardware malfunction. I got my DHL box on Monday 11/28/05 and I sent it out the same day at 11:35am EST. I got it back today (12-2-05) at Noon. Well I got a "replacement" console instead of my old one.
I thought this was strange since customer service said that they would first attempt to fix the problem and return it to me within in 3-5 days. Well I guess they couldnt fix the system so they sent a replacement. My guess is that they are realizing that the problem cant be fixed or they wanted to be nice and not have me wait too long for my 360

Either way Im glad I got the the system back so soon.
Well, so far this "new" system has ran flawlessly. I can play all my games just fine without any freezing. Ive been playing for at least 3 hours straight since I got it back.
Overall Im pleased with MS. Only a few things Im concerned about...... where did this system come from??? Is it refurbished? Im guessing it is, since I doubt they have new 360's hanging around as replacements. Also if it is refurbished, was this an older system with simalar hardware problems as my old box? Only time will tell.....
Both of Our's must of been in the same batch. I also sent mine back on 11/28. This new console was made on 10/13 and has run perfect so far... MS has done a good job with this. I wonder how many back-up units are being held at Repair Centers? I thought this thing was in short supply, that's why I was shocked to see a brand new one at my door this morning.
-
I'm sure they have 3% around for this type of thing.. I sent mine out on Wednesday and called today, they told me that they will only spend a few min testing the system and if a replacement needs to be send they do that pretty quick. He said they only look for the obvious, like a loose card or a definate bad component. Congrats on finally being able to enjoy your new system, I hope to have mine early next week!

They shipped it out Friday but because DHL sucks and doesnt work Saturdays, Im getting it Monday.

based on other's turn around times, I should be mine tomorrow . . . keeping fingers crossed

Im starting to get mad, I had the 3 red LED problem, I've been waiting since the 23rd to even recieve the initial box they are supposed to send you to ship your 360 back to them in... feels like im never gonna get my 360

Nov 22, stood in line for 4 hrs to get a CORE.
Nov 22- Came home, found system to have 3 rings of red lights in front. Called Xbox360 support and they said they'd send an overnite box so I could send it back to them. They actually send out the box Nov 25th due to the holiday but due to DHL not working on weekends (horrible), I get the "overnight" box on Monday Nov 28th, 2005. Call DHL to come back on Nov 28th to get it (same day as received) but they "COME" but never KNOCK ON THE DOOR. I called them back to get them to come back Nov 29th, 2005. They came back.
Nov 29 - DHL ships package to Xbox360 service repair center in McAllen, TX.
Nov 30 - MS acknowledges receipt of Xbox Nov30th, 2005 on phone call.
Dec 2- New Xbox is shipped back to me, replacement (after being told it was a repair by a phone representative). Inside the box is just the Xbox, nothing else. I originally had just sent the Xbox to them.
Dec 5- Receive XBox360 replacement in the mail "overnight", again cuz DHL doesnt work on weekends. This one has the THREE RED RINGS AGAIN AND I AM LIVID.
Dec 5- Called Xbox360 support and informed them of this. They will send me a new power brick to see if that solves the problem (overnight). I am sure it wont. But I am a tech and anything to do to troubleshoot is fine. I'd rather go for the easy fix than have to go through the whole waiting game again w/ them. They're sending an empty box and also a new power brick, so if that doesnt work, I send the system back to them for repair.
If it fails again, I will give a poor supervisor an earful. I've been patient enough.

damn thats harsh
I just called MS for a replacement because my HDD is apparently botched (crashes during Q4 autosave, game works fine with the HDD removed), they want me to send my entire console just to get a replacement HDD tho
I hope I have better luck than you
Good luck on getting a working 360, keep us posted.

Got my 360 back from MS yesterday. They gave me a new unit and the turn-around time from shipping the unit to them was 5 days. The new unit works flawlessly. Since I only got to play it for about 3 minutes the first time, this is my first real impression of a working system, and it is awesome. PDZ on my 720p projector looks fantastic and I really like the controls. I can't wait for Oblivion. When it is all said and done, I wish I had got a working system initially, but the exchange process was handled really well. The longest part for me was waiting for my shipping box which took about a week.
-
So i sent my system, DHL has a record of it being recieved but M$ doesnt. Its like the repair center didnt tell them hey, we go this xbox. So i called a supervisor who said he will send me a replacement since they CANT FIND MY CONSOLE! WTF! They lost it? The only reason they even know i sent it is i gave them my original tracking number that shows it was signed for by a "repair" tech at the center! damn them!

I hear you man, i have the exact same problem. Called M$ and they'll send me a new power supply.
A remarkable thing is that M$ replaced my core system with a premium one w/HDD. But it doesn't work
. Lemme know if the power supply works or should i prepare to send the console and everything
back to M$ for repair.

An update.... So now i am in a special "line" for people who have had unusual circumstances. My xbox is officially "DISSAPEARED" i have talk to 6 supervisors at the MS support line. No one has any answers as to where or why my xbox went. i have the box tracked to the repair center but nothing further. im so pissed at M$.....im done
-
Christ, my DHL box still isnt here for me to send my console back for repair (Called Monday, its now Thurs evening). I call MS to see whats going on, the rep tells me theres no record of MS to even ship me a DHL box.
Apparently the previous rep didn't save my trouble ticket or something and nothing was in thier system, now I gotta wait till Mon-Tuesday for my box, prolly wont get console back till week after that, ugh.

Well, that happend to me and I can tell you that your 360 is sitting somewhere waiting to go out for delivery. just like we can do on Pay-Pal we can create a shipping label thus giving you a tracking number, but that does not mean it's on it's way. My console was given a tracking # last Friday, Monday I called and said there was no info on DHL.com, don't try and get an straight answer from them, it won't happen. Tuesday night my tracking # showed in transit on dhl.com and I got my 360 Wednesday.
On a good note, it is a new unit and works GREAT. This thing is awesome!

I'm in the UK and I phoned in my faulty xbox on sunday morning and received my replacement on Friday so it only took 5 days, including receiving and sending the shipping box. The new unit is fantastic!
