i thought i heard somewhere that you will be able to take your hard drive out and bring it to a friends house to use on their 360, so if this is true wouldnt it mean that it would be impossible to lock the hard drive to one specific xbox?
-
I doubt the hard drives will be locked this time around... for the reason you mentioned...
AFAIK it will act like a giant memory card.
-
How can the HDD possibly be locked when you can buy them as an add on for an exisiting core system.
-
The hard drives will not be locked, but I'm sure some(if not all) xbox market place downloads will be locked to your xbox360. I may be wrong on that, so someone correct me if I am wrong.

Or they could be locked with a universal xbox 360 password. I'm also guessing that they won't use fatx again since we can read it in our pcs with xboxhdm. Could be wrong though.
I wonder how long it will take before someone interfaces the hdd with a pc.

I'm sure each XBOX 360 HDD will have some sort of an internal code embedded into it that will make sure the only thing it can connect to is an XBOX 360. Or on the flip side, the XBOX 360 might have a code that only allows HDDs with certain codes to be read.
Technically they are still locked drives. But not in the sense of a locked hard drive. More like a locked phone. Locked to one network, but any phone on that network can still be used. Get it?

they'll probably just make it so they can't launch main xbe equivalent files
