I was just thinking, how will MS stop people from stripping and getting naked in the Live cam chatrooms, especially with underage children? My friend was talking about all the people that will be naked on the cam chatroom and doing crazy stuff, but MS could get sued if underage children go nude on the Live cam. What do you guys think?

I imagine they can tap into anyone sessions and if they get reports then they will investigate... just like any other ISP *shrug*

Yeah, they're gonna have IP addresses, 360 MAC addresses, serial numbers, and Live usernames. That, along with a low-res screen grab every 15-30 seconds, will make MS's job much easier in this regard. They're not going to have a problem tracking these people down.

And no doubt there will be some sort of parental control in regards to the web cam and its functionality.

Well if it's in the realm of kiddy pron or predators I'm sure the feds will step in and MS will invite them as they sure don't want billboards saying "did you know that ever 12 seconds a child is solicited for sex online" ... really has any of you guys ever been solicted?  I know of no one that didn't go in the "right" place that got solicited...

Lol I know me and my friends will be doing some crazy stuff online, NO KIDS ALLOWED! Lol when the cam comes out probably every kid in town, boy or girl, will own a 360 because the cam feats. are so much more practical than AIM, MSN, or MySpace. MS will succeed in their goal of attracting more "casual" gamers.

i bet they will make u agree to something about them being able to llook at ur pics/vids and also rules of confuct u have to follow (like say someone does show there balls in a game, then they will be reported and banned).

i hope that they find a good solution to the problem. The benfits outway the disadvances in this and would be a shame if they didnt ever include it because of some perverts out their.

I think there are more children playing on xbox live then pounding away at a keyboard on MSN or AIM thats why this could be a more important issue then you perceive it to be.

If i had a 12-16 year old i would never let him play Xbox Live, im not an uptight bible pounding dude against swearing or anything but I just wouldnt.

I would however let him us MSN or the web, because when you enter a room on live you have no control over who else is there and what is coming out of their mouths.

when you are on the web you have to be looking for a porn site to find one, thats the difference to me.

You apparently know no kids... every kid past the age of like 10 is on an instant messenger chatting with their friends... my niece is 13 and has a "buddy list" a mile long and runs like 8 conversations at once.  and she is a good kid before anyone decides to make some stupid ass remark

I have a 13 year old niece as well and her MSN scenario is EXACTLY the same but im not talking about 13 year old girls im talking about 8-13 year old boys.

As far as i know there arent many 13 year old girls on live. Teenage girls chat whether its on the phone or on msn im not denying that.

YOU control who is on your buddy list
YOU control what website you go to

when you are on live you have to listen to some jackass spewing crap or listen to no one. you cant control who is in your game room.

ur very right in that the benifits outway the risks.  i mean this could revolutionize a lot of things.  a lot of us have largly unused internet conections and this could finally put video phones into use.  imgaine actually talking to and seeing the guy from the other side of the contry thats in ur clan, talking to grandma (although why she has a 360 would be beyond me), etc. the list goes on.  i think if they pull it off right it will be one of the best and most used features (other than gameing) of live.  (it would be even beter if there were a client u could download or even a reduced live subscription u could get to do this on ur comp, with ppl on there xbox's)

not many 8 year olds on live either... mostly teenagers.... and these same teenage boys get on IM's all the time to to chat with other girls.  I have many nephews and nieces and lots of friends with kids and they are all on IM's... pretty crazy considering I couldn't really give a shit about an IM or LIve really... just pointing out the reality of this whole cam scenario... you should have some concern but this isn't a new concern it's the same one that you should  have about IM's actually probably they are more of a concern as YOU have to monitor your kids IM's as yahoo and MSN (who own's them again?) won't.  BUT on xbox live I'm more than positive they won't play around with allowing "freedom of expression" on thier where as they don't really care as much on IM's (unless it's predatorial and thereby illegal).

as for people who are ugly, disfigured, or would have reasons to be insulted on the web cam, i dont think they would buy one.  we all know there will be insults and problems even though their is nothing wrong with the person, the one insulting will find reasons (race, age, acne, sex) but it would be so easy to just report it and give them the boot.

Xbox 360 is only for gaming, the webcam is just an option that some gamers will use to web cam with friends. My brother lives in Greece and is buying an Xbox 360 so the web cam feature will be excellent for our communication. One thing I dont want to see on Xbox live is live porn with some fat sluts. A computer and Xbox 360 are two different things.

I dont see it being a problem just because if you get out of line someone can always report you and you can get banned....the only thing i dont like is the feedback option on the current xbox  just because im sure people lie just because you murder them on a sports game and leave you negative feedback and you can probably get the boot or suspended.....as far as the cam i dont really care if its a realtime feed i think its fine to just record 15 sec's or just have a still pic if you want to post it...other than that i think it isnt so great do you really want to look at other guys to see them as they speak.....a cool feature with the cam would be say you are in a clan ...you can have all your crew in like a picture in picture all on the same screen that would be sweet....not that one on one deal.or even in a lobby if you come out by your screen name..

Really i dont think it will be a big deal. Just like on the computer i have a webcam and its not like im sucked into pron chatrooms or anything. I just think we make more of it than it is. yeh there will be ppl who put up some pics but their ass will prolly be banned. nothing new to worry about all of this was said back when the computer got webcams...

They should have the rooms set up, like 18+,kids, and so on. It would be good if there was a finger print reader that came with the premium package so that kids wouldnt be able to access all the adult rooms.
