Title: Existing Adapter Work With 360?
Post by: Xiode on June 10, 2005, 03:33:00 PM
I was just wondering if the current wireless Xbox Live adapter I have would work with my 360 as well.  I mean, the Xbox 360 is a completely new system, but then again, it's the same adapter really, so it could go either way.  Anyone know?

Also, I was wondering where you guys are pre-ordering these 360's.  I live in a very small rural town, and already our local EBGames has stopped taking pre-orders.  As of right now, they are sold out for the first month after launch.  Any tips where to get one would be appretiated. smile.gif  I've been too busy playing World of Warcraft to stay on top of this in the past.

Yes it will work on the X360 , the current XBox Wireless adapter even works on PC's and Laptops not just the XBox.

but the X360 wireless adapter has no need for aditional power cables , it takes the power needed from the USB port on the back.

like said before the new one will have usb plugin for power rather than going to the wall. the ones out now are still 100bucks which is a rip because you could get a wireless router for less. the new one shouldnt be anymore expensive so id say wait. that or you never know it may be included in some stores combo deals.

The controller(s) that come with the X360 will be wireless. That's been stated already. What's not clear yet though is if it will come with one or two, and if a Play -N- Charge cable will be included in the retail box. It would make sense to include that cable, or even the stand alone charger we've seen picture of. But we are taking about a money market, they will probably be sold seperately. I hope not because if they give you wireless controller(s) out of the box (and only that option ATM) they should provide a solution at the same time for power issues.

console through the ages have predominately come with ONE of the standard controller (in this case wireless). The cords look rather inexpesensive and look to sell for under $10 imo. I don't understand you fear of wireless. When they are done right, (logitech, wavebird) they kick ass. The controller design may be poor but the connection is perfect.

Also, I'm thinking there is a chance that via an adapter (like those homemade xbox to pc adapters) a xbox 1 controller will work. I don't think it will, but we can hope...

i know i remember someone in a video of the ourcolony or one of t hose 3 vids saying t hat there will be a way to use original xbox controllers with the xbox 360.

off topic and i hope im not thread stealing but would that adapter work if i plugged it into a port on a router? and connected to a wireless laptop? could that work?
