NO-You need a xbox360 fat liteon drive and flash it with 0800v3 to RIP GAMES and a liteon dvd burner  to burn games using vertribum meda for 100% copy of the xgd3 as other media have errors.

CHECK C4EVASPEAKS.COM AND IT HAS MODELS OF BURNERS WHAT YOU CAN PUT LTMAX FW ON TO BURN XGD3 100%

MS might release new dashboard with same DAE.bin.
Then you should be okay with your existing backup.

But it is important to ensure that you use the correct DAE.bin version for XBC in order to match the correct challenges for your dashboard version.

In the past...
dae.bin v5 (12416-12611)
dae.bin v9 (12625)
dae.bin v12 (13140-13604) <- current

An xbox360 Benq drive also works.
