Hey everyone been out of the scene for a little, just wondering if there is a new firmware to read xgd3 games yet on console? but also as far as backing up legit copies? xboxbackup creator isnt working on my copy of Warhammer Space Marine, however does for Dead Island. Yes, I own these copies of the games.

xboxbackup creator wont read xgd3 as its a new format. There is now fw that will play these games, thay cannot be ripped unless you have a jtag.
-
And I don't believe that format will be out until the fall and at that time lt 2.0 will come in.
-
Guess again Alison, its already out (Driver: San Francisco)

They cannot be ripped unless you have a jtag? Just to confirm this will only be for the time being yes? As I'm sure they will find out a way for when they release LT+ 2.0

Your guess is as good as mine mate. I really dont know and I wont base an illinformed guess or opinion from the various snippets Ive read on various forums including this one. I wish I could be more positive but the fact is that I just do not know. Sit back and live in hope brother! thats my only advise. Time will tell. M$ have to do everthing in their power to stop pirating and have tried and failed at each attempt. History dictates they have a good chance of failing again.

I couldn't agree with you more pal, only time will tell but I am confident that C4EVA and his team will do well and he does seem confident on his site, he has already said that 0800 fw will be released which will support XGD3 backups and has said that burning is being investigated, I may have over thought it but that COULD mean that they have figured out how to rip but like I said I may have jumped the gun on that one but hopefully the rumours were true about the fake layer on the discs as it might be simple to fix

what about users of the hatachi drives ??
as i have one of these rare beasts, so atm i dont have to worry about ap2.5 protection ..
so how do they treat ap2.6 ???
well after a quick read up, it seems they support Xgd3 Games already !! but that therefore means, no backups for us either !! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
or does any1 know different ??
odd that they support Xgd3 Games, but not ap2.5 ???

i know im not a admin or anything but we need to wait for c4eva to bring LT+ 2.0 and even still we will need to wait for XBC to bring out a newer version to support the new XGD3 format and even still will either need the new disc or hopefully theres a way to compress the iso to backup the new format games.
Anthing after Driver: San Francisco will be XGD3. Dead island thank god wasnt XGD3.
But also ive had somewhat of success in reading Driver, i use Schtrom 4.1 and if you have used it i selected it to just get he game.iso and even that by itself was about 8.1 GB.
Im not a pro like C4eva, team xecute or redline but i think ive found with the new XGD3 format they have moved the SS and the video layers are different, but the PFI and DMI are still in the same spot and they may have got rid of the SS all together and made something else.
I may be wrong but what ive found this is what the new format has done.
Hopefully this has helped.

Is there any software that can extract the files from XGD3 iso file so that they can be used on JTag?

i have a question about gears f war 3 and driver san francisco originals.
Me and a friend both have lite on drives with 1.9 firmware (both waiting on the 2.0)
so in the meantime we've both hired the original's of driver and gears of war 3 and my friend can play them fine on his xbox but when i put mine in i get a black screen and 1 red light in the bottom right of xbox
why is it doing it to mine and not his if we both have the same drives and same firmware?

Make sure you are on the latest dashboard and flash to LT+1.91 (which i assume your on) NOT 1.9 as LT+1.91 supports XGD3 backups whereas 1.9 doesn't

So for the Hitachi drive users your saving we are just waiting for a way to compress the games?

GDX3 discs have already been ripped. How? I really do not know.

This video may have already been posted and if it has, then I apologise. I know this doesnt really amswer yoiur question as to what software but its a damned good step in the right direction. I dont think its going to be long before we all find out. Sit tight and be patient, we are in for one hell of a ride. Respect to c4va.
