Whats a good brand of media for xbox360 backups? I have only used Verbatim 8.5GB 8X DVD+R DL..I am curious if there are other brands for a better value..But I don't wanna buy a 50pack of something I cant use.
I have been looking at the following:
1.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817131081
2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817501023
Any suggestions?

I use TDK DL DVD +R 8.5gb discs. After about 30 backups I have only made 2 coasters. You can get better deals on Verbatims online but my local store has TDKs so it's easier for me. I would say either brand would serve you well.

Well, Verbatims are the best quality... but are more costly. I used to get Verbatims only, but have tried Memorex, TDK, and even Optical Quantum (cheapo brand). All of them work flawlessly, and I haven't had a single problem with any brand.
Just bear in mind that you get what you pay for. The cheaper media uses a less quality dye, and may cause strain on your dvdrom laser. I've never had any problems with that though. As far as bad burns, the only issue I had was with Memorex discs. However, it was not the discs that was the problem... it was my burner's firmware. Once I upgraded that, all was well.
