i don't think it's a coincidence that it was those three games. because i am sure those three games alone probably make up a large percentage of XBox Live users in general and you can guarantee Microsoft knew this would mess with a lot of people in the hopes that could get them to avoid the moding scene etc.
good thing is, i could pretty much care less about those games
p.s. about the only game i care about that's coming out in the not to distant future would be Mortal Kombat (i.e. MK9) which is due April 2011.
but either way, i am golden because i got a Samsung 360 myself which is immune to AP2.5 as we already know.

So I went to play Forza 3 today on my Jtag and when I pop the memory card in the profile didn't show up. I go to system settings and it said the profile is corrupt.

Well assuming your Samsung system had a Samsung drive in it as the original drive you should be fine if your using the newest LT v1.0 firmware for it. because AP2.5 cannot effect Samsung users.

He needs LT+ or else he will get flagged. They don't just put updates out for the hell of it.

I was on IRC yesterday and k3rn3l said that PAL patches will be few and far between - people from the UK aren't sending out discs so they can get the patches needed. Shame that, I'm waiting for PAL patches too. Would send my Black Ops if i knew where to..

They can't release AP2.5 ripping firmware. This would ruin everything. MS does not know how the AP25 data is read. If the firmware is released they would know.

because as c4e has said before.. the method/hack they are using to dump that data is fixable.. so by keeping it out of the wild its less likely that MS will patch/fix it... if it was released on the net you could bet your ass that it would be fixed within a day if not hours.. then EVERYONE would be screwed

We keep thanking "them" because if it werent for their hard work we wouldnt even be able to complain in the first place because there would be nothing to complain about..... as for "legit backups" ....yeah really? I dont think there IS such a thing as "legit" backups..... I personally have never been easily "encouraged" to do anything I didnt already WANT to do...... thats like saying the people who made Napster ENCOURAGED you to download music you didnt own... I dont think ANYONE is encouraging anyone else to wear an eye-patch and so I also thank all those who have made the scene what it is today and for all their hard work and efforts.

Thanks captain Obvious! We CAN rip games with current 0800 WITHOUT AP25 info and we know that as much as you. Thanks again cap.
BUT
We can't rip AP25 measures from our original discs. Think with your head a little. We have different version of games in shitty Russia (different gamedate, different media id, etc.), SO these discs have DIFFERENT AP25 info, SO these patches for scene-releases will not help us!

No need to re-rip as the hard drive doesn't store checks. That's why you have to have the disc in the drive when you select to play the game (the disc is spun up, and verified genuine, and if it is the game continues into booting).
Just make sure your backup is kosher and you're good to go. No need to re-rip the disc to the HDD. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

As already stated unfortunately, if the capture method were made public it would be fixable, and then *no one* would be able to rip these games if/unless a new capture method was discovered.
As a possibility you could ask Team if it would be possible for you to send your game to them with return postage and have them rip the AP25 information for you and apply it to ABGX (or at least have it send to you). This would be helping the community and would also allow you to backup your game for a fee (maybe others in your community would be willing to pitch in a few dollars to get the rip done).

how do you think ms can fix it? they can only add a few more checks. but whatever, if we don't have new0800 it does not mean that we can't make copies of our originals (due this patches)

I had LT 1.1 thinking I had LT+ 1.1 given the same version number. Subsequently I have a AP2.5 failed flagged console, and a stuffed drive while trying to reflash. All this would have been avoided if the firmware was versioned correctly
Oh well... I never used live anyway. But I do worry about having media play and install to HDD disabled.

that's only true on ALL drives BESIDES Hitachi drives prior to v78/v79 AND Samsung drives.
if you got one of those drives, which i do (Samsung), you can play games like we always have with or without the AP2.5 patches since Microsoft can't enforce AP2.5 stuff on Samsungs (or older Hitachi's) simply because there is no way for the drives to check the AP2.5 data as the drives don't support it.

Yeah, I initially thought about the justification for not releasing it publically, but I don't think M$ could be in the dark about 'how ap 2.5 SS was being read' , all they have to do is look at a patched image and they have all the info they need. I can't tell ppl here in Australia that they are safe to patch/run backups for those titles at the moment as even if they have a PAL version, the crc's are often different here than UK's.
I'm sure there is a good reason for it (that I can't seem to figure-out currently) but given the situation and the fact M$ have just vested a fair bit into their latest copy-protection, perhaps Xecuter could at least given certain 'trusted/trustable' regional modding orgs a copy of their ripping SW/FW ;-) so that we might be able to upload the patches. Or perhaps they could develop a better way for us to send them originals (preferably the former) As it would seem that TU's or encoded .Xex's are no longer going to dictate AP 2.5 checks......

Yes, You only need run the .iso (assuming you still have it) thru AGBX and then re-burn.

My guess would be that ur original had either dust or a scratch before you ripped it (although you never know, without knowing ur region it's difficult to tell but usually if it doesn't pass the initial check then it won't boot period), Make sure you verify after burning, as verification will confirm that the problem is with the image on ur hdd (AGBX wont pick-up most basic forms of data corruption) ie; If ImgBurn/XBC verifys after writing then don't bother burning it again (let alone 5 times) Re-Rip and Re-Patch
I suspect that the new dash is carrying-out checks though at other intervals eg; when you go back to dash but it's unlikely that ur issue has anything to do with AP 2.5
