How to get AP 2.5 Games(Like Fable 3) to run on JTAG from HDD

Download Xextool 5.2: http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/xbox360pc/develo...exTool_v5.2.rar

How to get AP 2.5 Games(Like Fable 3) to run on JTAG from HDD

Simply xtract to your Hard drive (or USB) as you would normally (Using your favourite program)

Then: Go to the folder the game is in and copy the file 'default.xex' to a USB (Or any other means for getting it onto a PC)

Copy it into the same folder (keep the original for backup in a seperate folder) as Xextool (Xorloser's program - extract it from it's .rar - I usually just put it at the root of any given drive eg; C:\ etc..)

Next: Run cmd.exe from the start menu to bring up the command line window.

Then: Making sure you are in the directory that contains the default.xex and Xextool.exe
Type: Xextool -r a Default.xex

You can now copy the Default.xex file back into the game directory that you originally got it from

hi would this work on Fable 3 being burned to disc for modded dvd drives?

what i mean is could you extract the fable 3 .iso and then alter that file with this patch THEN remake the iso and burn it hoping that the latest dashboard with a modded drive will then work for these AP2.5 games

Very much doubt it, doing that would kill your JTAG good and proper

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but this doesn't solve the problem where we need the new dashboard to play Kinect games.

No this doesn't (Sorry) But we will be expecting 126111 rebooter(For JTAG only) soon (Like Freeboot) to run Kinect games. My understanding is that the guru's (Or at least a couple of them) are working on it, but it may take a little longer than usual. My guess is that LT+ will take significantly longer than usual as the work involved will be extensive not to mention the need to collect data from more new AP 2.5 games or games that have AP 2.5 TU's

fable 3 runs fine on dash 9199
no patching needed.. only the new dash activated the ap2.5 in the game..

so this is useless on a jtag.. u dont need to modify anything in the game xex

afaik there is not jtagged november update yet, so you cant have confirmation if it works or not untill that update is released.

There's no unassigned code its just altering the default.xex to play ap2.5 and putting it back to .iso then burning it for modded drive

Fable 3 works fine on my jtag. I run them from my games on demand. I dont know what all this ap 2.5 stuff is, but i hope it doesnt get in the way of playing new games on my jtag.

the thing is thou have you updated your dash to the new one there's reports these games don't work regardless if its a jtag or hacked drive people say you just get a black screen or something on the new fbBuild rebooter due to this ap 2.5 if your on freeboot 9199 they work fine still

I always use ISO2GOD to store my games on harddrive so never until now had to extract ISO. What the best app to use please so I can gain access to the default.xex?

If you have the game as an ISO then you can use WX360 to extract the Default.xex and also use it to re-inject the default.xex once you have edited it. If you only have the games in the GOD format you can use GOD2ISO to get back to ISO and start there.

I have tried this method for NFS Hot Pursuit and have had no luck. All i get is the 360 error screen with E71?

Any ideas?

Thats all dependent on whether you are up to date with freeboot and dashlaunch, as the ap2.5 checks have been removed.

The easiest way to run AP25 games on JTAG - directly from HDD.

1. Extract the ISO file
2. Move the extracted game on HDD/USB etc.
3. Run XEXMenu 1.1
4. Navigate to the game folder and search for Default.xex - press Y on this file and choose "Patch XeX"
5. repeat point 4 on other xex files.

You are ready to go.

Checked on ACB.
