Title: Reads As Dvd? And Other Problems!
Post by: trees415 on April 20, 2010, 11:20:00 PM
Sounds like a wave conflict. Basically you're running older firmware (IX 1.6 or older) that does not support newer wave games. You can tell if this is in fact the issue if, when you choose to play the DVD, a Microsoft Xbox 360 logo appears on the screen. If that is the case, then your xbox is not live safe, and I would suggest reflashing your drive with newer firmware. If you have been on live while using the older firmware, then no matter which firmware you use, you will be running the risk of getting banned if you continue to use Live. However, whether or not you have been on live, I would still suggest upgrading the firmware so you do not have to deal with Wave issues in the future. Depending on the drive, these are the best firmware options to upgrade to:
LiteOn or a Benq: Ixtreme LT 1.1
samsung: IX 1.61
Hitachi: IX 1.51

Since I got the sense you do not have very much experience with flashing/modding your 360, I would highly suggest that you do some research on how to flash an xbox 360 DVD drive. The process is actually quite simple if you have done enough research. If you decide to take on this task, check the FAQ's/Tutorials on this site, and/or check out the jungleflasher website (google jungleflasher, its the first one). Good luck...
