If you backed it up from your original using Xbox Backup Creator and an 0800 drive then you shouldn't have to do anything to it.
-
no didn't do it with 0800 I did it with SH-D162 c with kreon firmware. It does show up as ssv1
-
Kreon firmware drives can't do ssv2. Your best bet is to retire that drive (like I did) and get a Benq or liteon and the 0800 (v1.60 or 1.61) firmware on it and use it to rip. I got one from ebay for under $30.
I wouldn't trust patching something up and going on live with it. But that's up to you.

Is there a certain benq or liteon drive that you would suggest?

I'm using a Benq drive I got off ebay. You can find them for $30 or less.
You'll need a way to power it, so you might want to pick up a connectivity kit (maximus is the one I use but there are others).
You power it on, turn it off, push tray halfway in and then power it back on (all with PC on and booted to windows). Then on my PC I wait about 10seconds and press eject and it recognizes it.
Then load up Xbox Backup Creator and you're good to go.
