I'm wondering if there are any new updates for mac?
I'm having some serious issues when it comes to burning with my MBP.(macbookpro)
I have seriously read every topic /tutorial / guide / forum about burning with mac there is, but most of them go back to 2007 or even 2006.
I tried iBurn, ISOx360, X360IsoHacker, and even OSx360.
Every ISO is checked with abx360 for mac, and turns out fine.
It did manage to burn 3 iso's succesfully, but 11 others were wasted. I have no clue WHY those 3 did turn out fine. I used the exact same settings on the others a few times as well as every other option there basically is.
I also read that the drive I have in my mbp is complete #%$^. It's a Matshita UJ-868.
All discs stop at the exact same %. I assume this is around the layerbreak? They are all written tilllike 60% or so (by looking at the disc?).
x360_iso_hacker is the only program that managed to succesfully burn those 3, but 4-5 others failed with it.
Im using Verbatim discs by the way, so you can imagine I rather not waste more of them right now.
Are there any new updates concerning this?Or anyone has tips?
I could also run bootcamp and use that, but its redicilous that a $2000 costing machine doesn't do whatever I want it to do. Yeah yeah, overpriced crap etc, my own mistake!

Yeah, I bought a dvd writer (some cheapass samsung sub-brand) and when using imgburn, it just works fine. No coasters at all anymore. But that's not my point. I want to be able to do this stuff on a 2k costing machine.
It's just annoying that apple doesn't care about the drives they put in apparantly.
Oh well, guess I'll have to live with it. Burning wii games via mac is working fine, yay.

Well if you still have warranty on it or applecare, take it in and tell 'em that it's making coasters when trying to burn dual layers dvd's... Hopefully they'll replace the drive...

I'm a Mac guy with an xbox as well. My weapons of choice (besides abgx) are a mac pro, verbatim DL 2.4x and ISOx360 (which I believe is the best). I'm on a 2007 macbook right now and out of curiosity I will try a DL in this drive the next time I get new disks (I've since moved to jtag/games on hdd).
You said you tried an external drive and it worked? I've never had or have heard anyone have problems with a specific drive when it comes to burning. Either the drive burns or it doesn't. In any case, Xbox games weren't meant to be burnt with consumer equipment, and it's not something that drive manufactures worry about. Maybe that particular drive model works in a particular way that conflicts in some obscure way with xbox games. Maybe it's just your drive and applecare can replace it. I'm not sure. It's frustrating when things don't work by pure bad luck and I sympathize, but I wouldn't claim that apple is using "cheap drives". Keep the faith, brotha.
