I checked 4 other listings and none say it has dl so either newegg's wrong or they are right and a new fw update activated dl burning capability, i'd put my money on being wrong.

Try Infiniti 360 i never had a failed burn yet.

for the samsung?
http://www.samsung.c...type=prd_detail

and the infinite 360s i only see on UK sites, im in us

anyways i have $20 walmart card online, so likely put that towards verbs, they have 20 pack for $36, so minus $20, add shipping, about $1 per disc. so main focus is dvd dl burner for $30 or so. the samsung is $30 adn free ship.also IDE would be better. I have a sata pci car,d not sure how it'll work tho

I spend $70 on a Pack of disc just to save Trial and Error because time goes by fast, now for your DVD drive well there's not to much to say besides that there all the same Yes that's right all drives that get manufactured are the same maybe 2 or 3 drives that ant. The only thing that's different are the Stickers and the People applying them lol I know is funny but that's how it goes and $30 for a DL DVD Drive I say were lucky to have a Sticker with the drive for that price hope this helps smile.gif

that Samsung will work tho right ?

Yes it's the best one try ncix they got good deals or tiger remember that samsung drive is just for your PC not the x360 because the name is the same but ya I burned off 6 games with this drive also you can hack it to Write faster. When I burn off movies with a Sony 16X disc that is rated for 16X the drive lets me burn at 18X but I don't recommend doing that 16X it ok for me same thing when burning off my Games example Verbatim 2.4x 95310 lets me burn at 4X witch worked but don't recommend that ether just stick with the Rated burn Speed. Having this with the drive I got now is cool for fast backup that just about it hope this helps. smile.gif

What is the best burner ?

Samsung SH-S223 DL DVD drive and when looking for a version like this one any Letter after 3 means Updated FW from the manufacture or more Features. Also your DVD drive might support DL Media check the specs on the manufacturer's website or the place you got it from. smile.gif

I have Samsung SH-S223Q hope this helps

will that work ok with Sata DVD burners, or is IDE safer ?

If your mobo got IDE I would stick with IDE that's if you can fine them anymore but if you had to go with the PCI Sata card witch is VIA6421 card you mean then ya you should be ok. I got one but never installed nor did I take it out of the Case that it came in lol didn't need it my Chipset is ICH10R the benq and Liteon x360 drives work great on that chipset never flashed the Liteon so don't know if its Freezes  biggrin.gif
