Title: Beatle Rock Band Backup Problems
Post by: jaguar23 on September 08, 2009, 11:10:00 PM
Hi all. I purchased the Beatles Rock Band game from EB Games and am trying to make a backup. However when it's burned to disc and inserted into the 360 it only says Play DVD.

I've ripped it through both XBC and Schtrom and get the same result. The only thing I can notice is that there is a system update file on the disc which you have to run initially before playing the game. When I run both the XBC and Schtrom image files through the stealth check in Sctrom it fails on the 'Video Layer 1 on Layer 0' and 'Video 1 on Layer 1' categories. I assume this might have something to do with the DVD structure due to an additional folder called System Update.

Anybody else had the same problem or can help me fix this? Thanks.

Ok have done some further investigation and when loading the original game in XBC it shows bytes used to be 151 MB. This is way higher than I would have expected. Isn't it usually around 5 MB? Something tells me the video layers are in a different structure in this game, causing more (and invalid) data to be included in the video layer. But then again, I'm no expert on this type of thing.

I have also run the final rip through abgx360 and it tells me that stealth is fine, video is fine, DMI and PFI are fine. Of course, when it tries to connect to the internet to get a valid valid ini file there is none there because no one has uploaded a valid one yet (I guess because it only got released today). I'm using the latest software for all programs and have done may backups prior to this. In fact, just did one a couple of days ago with no problems.

So while abgx360 says it's a valid rip, XBC and Schtrom say it isn't and point to an invalid PFI and/or video. I'm at a loss.

Ok, for anyone who'se actually following this thread, here's another update.

I actually feel like a bit of a noob. I've been out of the xbox modding scene for a while and it seems while I've been gone there has been an update to the firmware requirements in order to play newer games. I think that's where my problem lies. So I'm going to update my firmware tomorrow and hopefully that should fix the problem.

So I assume whilst abgx360 was saying it passed, the reason why XBC and Schtrom were saying it failed was because they are older and not yet checking the new 3rd wave type games, whereas abgx360 does.

Will post back with results.

Hope this helps someone in the same situation.
