Hi guys,
having done a lot of browsing over the internet looking for a good drive to burn my backups games,i came acroos two choices:
-The pioneer 112D (which unfortunately is not avalaible now where here in canada and i don't think will work with vista)
-The pioneer DVR-216D Beige 20X SATA OEM DVDRW No Software (which works with vista and is the newest pioneer sata drive)
here is the link to the 216D:http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=22862
So should i get the 216D or do any one has a better choice.
Thanks
PS: I use vista
I personally got the 216 last night in the mail (from what i know the only real luck ull have is to find it on the net...but the site i got off of doenst have it anymore...newegg doesnt either, they only have the new 217s that are out.
But with regards to my happiness with the drive, id say its pretty great. I did a quick scan on my burned DVD+R DL discs and got a score of 93-95 consistently. This was way better than my other DL burner. Id say get the DVR-216 (sata, the 116 is the IDE version) and use Verbatim DVD+R Dual Layer dvds, burn them (make sure you own the original copy!) at 2.4x and you cant go wrong. No one can stress enough that quality blank dvds are important.
Good luck!

another question>so should i get the 217D?since my local computer store has it .
man, I'd give it a try. Pioneer makes an excellent burner. I think you'd be safe and well off getting that one.
