Hey guys, wondering if anyone can suggest some ideas or reasons why this is happening to save me trashing any more DL's.
Burning self made backups (from Kreon, from original discs) to TDK DVD+R on my LG GSA-4163B as per usual.
Have burnt 35 games prior without any hassle. Just burnt 2 from this last pack of 5 DVD+R's.
3 Failed.
1 with burning game1 with Imgburn.
1 with burning game2 with Imgburn.
1 with burning game2 with clonecd.
Reason I tried 2 progs.
The error I got from Imgburn (clonecd does give any reason) is:
W 11:35:16 Failed to Write Sectors 1840384 - 1840415 - Tracking Servo Failure
Should I try another burner? or is this a common prob with a simple fix?
Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.
EDIT: Just read posts stating bad media or possible hardware fault.
From the 5 pack, 2 burnt perfectly, its these later 3 that hit this servo failure error.
Throw me some ideas, please.

Could be the media....
Your buner could be going out...
You might not have ripped the games good...

Through past experience:
DVD burner firmware was too old, find the model and update the firmware.
Burn at 4x, 2.4x is unnecessarily slow and can have problems. (depends on media speed support)
Don't use the computer when burning as hard drive access uses up buffer
Set layer break at 1913760

Thanks for your input damageisking.
Have narrowed it down to the burner itself (burnt the same backups on another burner w/latest imgburn just fine). I will be using that for the meantime.
But when I have time will flash latest dvdrw firmware, and give it one last chance before going to buy a new one.
Thanks again.

Try switching the ide cables for your burner or your hardrive. I had this exact same problem with my pioneer. Switched the ide cable and everything has been working fine ever since.
