Power calibration errors are usually caused by bad media, strange you have got that error with the verbs !!
I suggest trying a different pack of disks if you have any, you may have a bad batch.

The easy way to find out is to try different media,
In my experience "power calibration errors" is down to bad media.
Like I said you may have a bad batch.

before you buy a new batch, hit continue.
if it works, you're all sweet.
if not, try a different disc/batch.

i hit retry button. 2 out of 10 time it then writes , Then i get this:

Potential 'WaitImmediateIO' Deferred Error - (0%, 0/3) - Session Fixation Error Writing Lead Out
Finalise Disc Failed! - Reason: Session Fixation Error Writing Lead Out

Is my burner worn out?  im sure my burner is like 4 years old, it burns dvd fine though this is my first time burning a dual layer.  will buying a new one make things go smoother?  If i do What the best one out there now?

thanks

people seem to reccomend looking at the pioneer dual layer burner range.

111d-116d or somesuch i think their model numbers might be.

I have had problems when the right stuff wasnt turned on in my OS. Check and see if DMA support is enabled

DId anyone figure this out yet? I Have the same issue with a Pioneer DVR-111D using Verbatim MKM-001-00. THing is, i burnt my backup of prototype a week ago. Came back from a trip and cant find it. Tried to reburn and got this:
Failed to set L0 Data Zone Capacity!

Reason: Power Calibration Area Error

I tried removing my primary IDE controller and letting windows do it automatically as mentioned in another thread to no avail. Doesnt matter what speed. I'm half way through the spindle and the working burn and the one that give error are from the same spindle... ANy suggestions...Im playing the original now but my son already got a scratch on it. sad.gif
