That's because the reviews hardly cover the real info. THERE IS NO MEMOREX THAT BURNS AS WELL AS AN MIS VERBATIM DISC!!!!!!!!!! (Unless the Verbatim is defective). Read the first link in my sig for all of the info on who really produces the discs and the comparison error rate scans. Bottom line is that Memorex (usually produced by Ritek or Ricoh these days) will give results that are all over the place and vary greatly depending on the following: The person's DVD Burner/firmware, 360 DVD-ROM/firmware, ect. MIS Verbatim on the other hand is much more universal across all burners/dvd-roms and applications. As for the price argument, true the Memorex can be had for cheaper but then again you can always find Verbatim for cheaper as well. The 2.4x official Verbatim discs can be had in packs of 20 for $28 shipped from newegg or if you have a microcenter in your area you can get the same thing for about $25. Really provided you stay on top of deals and if you live in North America there really is no reason why you can get a quality D/L disc for $1.50USD or less. If you spend anymore than that you are letting yourself be robbed. (IMG:
