Title: Update Via Internet Required?

I am trying to play Devil may cry 4 pal version on my ntsc, and its asking me to update. I click yes and it gives me an error saying check your connection settings. I dont have High speed internet. I have never had to update via internet before, it was always on the disk. Is it because its a different version game then my system? Its region free so it should not be a problem?
