Title: New To 360 Modding, Few Questions

my brother gave me this xbox, it has already been modded. i believe its modded firmware. how can i identify which mod this is? and what features does it have? i have backups that do work, i have successfully burned a backup. but how do i make backups of originals that i have? the only ones i've burned are ones that my brother already had images of. i do not know how he backed them up. i heard you can use ftp. is this true? and how?

You cant use an FTP program like with the original Xbox.

using backups that you did not create whether you own the game or not is illegal and is not allowed here

whether its legal or not, i'm burning and backing up just to learn how to do this. i want to know how to identify the mod on my console.
