ok I have a NME v2.0 chip and and very new xbox, hdmi, production date 8-2007 with a BENQ
...
WINDOWS XP AND VISTA..
INSTALL CLONECD ... just do it, demo whatever..
USE a SAMSUNG sh-162c with kron1.0 to rip USING XBOXCOPY 2.7 to rip....YOUR ORIGTINALS
then go to DRIVE TOOLS ...OFF YOUR ORIGINAL..... and do a security sector rip and save it..
Then use ASSOCIATOR and patch the iso with the ss sector to convert to a NME IMAGE..
if it doesnt work your burner is screwed up... OR MOST LIKELY you didnt install clone cd...
for some reason clone cd updates some drivers as nme2.com finally states..
im usiing samsung 162c kreon v1
and samsung s202g DL burner .. i burn at 2xspeed no more... 40 minutes

PS i did have aproblem when i switched out the reader and burner to a system that had VISTA on it...
once i installed CLONECD (even though i dont use it) the backups worked....

OK so how do you fix or convert a IEXTREME??
use DVDDECRYPTOR...
decrypt it..
then use XBC to extract the ss sector..
then accociate it..
if its an old iextreme image (you can check it in XBC , youll get red exes in DMI PMI etc)
just make sure you get the ss sector from xbc, associate it and burnit,,,
DONT USE MEMOREX 16x DL in the red package, they are crap..
the ones in the purple package work fine... 50-60$ shipped on ebay in the USA
the chip is VERY SCRATCH SENSITIVE
use a sleeve or a dvd case
if your backups arent working, try and hold the power button in untill the whole green circle of lights come on..
if its and original, it wont work with the chip enables(BENQ--dotn know for others)
so you know the chip works..
if you get the jap screen...or unplayable..
INSTALL CLONE CD..
and reboot and re-rip
if all else fails your burner just wont cut it..

ANY NME IMAGE SHOULD BE 7705657344 bytes as will show in XBC
if they are and your sure you IMAGE TOOLED your SS sector, than your burner needs replaced..
I dont like coasters.. but i speant many to contribute...
