Title: Backup Games Not Working
Post by: vesperka on December 23, 2007, 11:42:00 AM
Yesterday I flashed my 360 (iExtreme 1.4 on my Hitachi 47D). All I did was hook-up my drive with a SATA cable and ran flashix.bat, chose the right drive and the lowest firmware speed, and then it ran and told me my drive had been flashed and I could power down.
I've burned games with CloneCD and ImgBurn at 2.4x with Verbatim DVD+R DLs. I set the layer break to 1913760 and I'm using this burner (just bought it a few days ago):

1. Restore firmware and try again with full speed ixtreme 1.4 instead of lowest speed.
If they still don't work:
2. Check your ISO file you ripped by running it through Shtrom or xDVD Mulleter to ensure it's fully stealthed.
If they still don't work:
3. Try to burn again with IMGBurn - don't worry, it works the same way as CloneCD. You just need to select the .dvd file as it knows how to read it.
Hopefully one of these steps should kick it into gear. If it's #2 or #3, you can always go back and reflash the drive to a slower speed (8x for example) and go from there.

Alright I'll try re-flashing it. I'm confident that my backups are good because I got them from a friend.
People are suggesting that it's a media/burner problem, so they're telling me to buy a Pioneer 112d. Does this even make sense?
Also, I researched something about an open tray error fix using a piece of plastic and a rubber band, should I try this?

Reflashing doesn't work, so I'm going to try a different firmware. After restoring using the iExtreme restorer I tried using the firmware Maximum Garyopa 2.3 Stealth and I get an error during flashing.
"Hitachi drive build was NOT detected!" Then t tells me one of three things could be wrong, the first two I know I have covered (just making sure the drive is connected and I'm choosing the right one). The error must then be caused by "Your x360 drive is not a working version" what does this mean?

Dunno what was wrong with that firmware, I flashed with Cmdore4eva or something from xbins and it flashed fine. Backups still don't work but originals work fine. My drive makes a lot of weird noises whenever I put backups in, I don't know what else to do.
