Might not be the cheapest but for a Hitachi drive are very recommended

I've always used Memorex DVD+R DL's and I've gotten them online from TigerDirect for really cheap. They have always worked for me.

waste of time and money IMHO, you usually can get verbatim for close to the price of cheaper media.
And there is cheap and "cheap" where you increase your chance for problems significantly. they may work, but not worthed unless verbatim are really more expensive than the others.

Verbatim are fairly expensive in the UK/Europe, however there are cheaper alternatives that aren't too bad and as mentioned by soso they are definitely worth the extra price.

You are kidding right?  Don't know where you are shopping but you can get them much cheaper than that.  If you are talking about the 4x discs then you must be looking at DL DVD-R which are worthless unless you have a late model Sammy with the latest firmware update.  DL DVD+R can be had for much cheaper.  Even though they are only 2.4x rated they will overspeed to 4x or even 8x on most burners.  http://svp.co.uk/pro...id=2107&prepg=3 regularly has them for quite a bit less per disc.  Or sometimes you can find a friendly member on this site that is willing to export them from the U.S. for a small fee. wink.gif
