Hi, i have a Samsung drive in my 360 and the first backup didnt work because i didnt know about bitsettings.

Now i know about it and downloaded dvdinfopro to change the bitsetting, if i leave dvdinfopro running, clonecd doesnt burn and says the drive is inused.

So i was wondering if i change the bitsetting in dvdinfopro and close it, and THEN start burning with clonecd, will it work?

pretty difficult to help without knowing your burner (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif), look at the pinned for a lot of info.
closing the dvdinfopro will not be a problem, the question is more will you have to do it before each burn or not. Also if you have a samsung, it must be a pretty old fw to require Bitsetting!! they do not require it since 3.1 and we are at 5.2.

Use good media and try burning with imgburn ( Tutorial: XBCreator & Imgburn ).

My burner is LG 4120B with FW A104.

On my 360, i have a Samsung drive @ Xtreme 3.3

I burned my backup of Gears of War onto a DVD+RDL and it didnt work, and i found out that someone said Samsungs doesn't read DVD+RDL unless the burner uses bitsettings.

And i used a Verbatim DVD+RDL for burning, when i put the DVD in the 360, it says "reading" then it says "Open drive".

Also, is CloneCD bad or something?

**EDIT** By the way, i burn at 2x-2.4x with CloneCD.

then IMGBURN would be great because it will set the booktype before each burn by software, look at the tut.

How have you done the backup?
-for ss.bin which software & drive
-for game.iso which software & drive
-how was it merged

So i've used ImgBurn to verify my CD and it says "incomplete". (I burned it on 2 DUal layers because i thought the first one didnt work, but both says "incomplete") and it also says that its in DVD+RDL instead of DVD-Rom

Okay first and foremost you need to make sure that you have a booktype setting firmware installed on your burner (assuming your burner has one or even supports it as not all burners support the booktype setting feature). I'm not even sure if your revision supports it. No amount of software is gonna allow you to set the booktype to DVD-ROM if your burner won't even support it in the first place. I suggest spending some time digging around for firmware updates for your burner in the downloads section at http://www.rpc1.org. As for setting the booktype with IMG Burn, once you get the proper firmware installed on your burner (assuming once again that it exists), then you can go in and adjust it manually and it should come out just fine (don't screw around with the booktype setting in DVDinfopro as it often creates more problems than it solves). Also, in IMG Burn be sure to set the layerbreak at the appropriate spot. There is alot more to creating a proper 360 image than the original XBOX and if you even screw up or miss one step you end up with a coaster, so be sure you verify every single step of the creation/backup process before you burn another disc. *EDIT* Looks like there is one.

IMHO you shouldn't use DVDinfopro FOR ANYTHING BUT getting the manufacturer info from the disc or checking out the booktype on a disc that you have already burned. Try setting it in IMG Burn and go from there.

I dont know if its because of IMGburn or my new burner, but it worked now.

I was searching for my secondary (newer) burner and it said that it supported bitsettings so i tried it right away, and everything worked perfectly.

The only weird thing happend so far was when i was verifying, when it got to ~50%, an error popped up.
Oh well, atleast the backup works now.
